the effects of the new CBA on the swans...

means that we will have a surplus of approximately, presuming that we r running at around 98% of our 115% (after the recent alleged pay-cuts) $903,956 in our salary cap!!! thats a lot of bargaining power! maybe we can offer $903,955 of it to judd?

it also means that we cant delist frosty and warfe mid-season

we will have a greater capacity for veterans that we dont have speaking of which, who is the next eligible veteran? nicks, snapper and frosty? their immediate futures look bleak, with maybe the exception of nicks... is it magic at 26? thats 4 years without a listed veteran!

A nice idea but one that the club won't try while we are $1.5m in the red. If we stay at this level for say 2 years (the smallest amount of time before we post a profit again, so this and next year makes 2005) and we keep our current rate of improvement going, we should be ready for a real run at the flag and at the same time be able to pick off the best off contract players available.
    Once was, now elsewhere

it would be funny and bad at the same time if we got a 1.5M grant from the AFL and gave judd 900k of it!
