I feel that Warfey has improved - but suffers from a luffy every now and then - "brain explosion". However, keeps on trying! Won't be a 300 gamer but servicable. He is better than when Rocket was here........... More confidence and the team skills are the best I have seen for years.

Mathews has been playing more in our midfield than in defence. Warfe and Mathews are different kinds players.

Warfe has been better of late, but his spot will come under fire when we have Doyle, Fixter and Saddo back. Getting little game time doesn't help him
      Once was, now elsewhere

Agree with you warfes_babe. OK, there've been a couple of clangers but he has been improving and he does have a hard go. I think it's a confidence thing and he will repay persisting with.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

I agree I don't know if I would have him in my best 22 when we have a full team. We are still blooding young players and powell looks like the future there.

Powell is definitely the future for Sydney but Warfe is doing quite well and has definitely improved under Roos. He definitely deserves a spot, at the least on the interchange bench. It would be interesting to see, however, if he retains his spot when Sydney's best defence is on the field.

Warfe has definately been getting better of late. It is stupid to say that as Mathews gets more possessions he is a better player. Warfe's job is to spoil, harass etc which he is doing well. He has had a lot of injuries so with a bit of game time he will only improve.

Fixter is going to be a solid player, however I don't understand why people think that he his going to set the world on fire when he returns. He is a young developing kid who will take a bit of time. Comments that he is going to be the saviour of our backline are rubbish. Maybe he will in 2 or 3 years time, but not this year.

Rowan has been doing rather well lately. The Bulldogs game was great.

Matthews plays a completely and totally different game to Warfe so you can't compare the two. You also can't expect a lot from Fixter when he returns because he's been injured for a long time. I agree with Craig in the fact that Ben Fixter will develop and show his best in the 2 to 3 years

Did you actually watch him closely? Did you notice how often he was out of position in the first half and how often his direct opponent was in the play? Or is your opinion coloured by one particular incident when he happened to find himself in a position to repel a particularly dangerous attack? IMO a player needs to do more than one thing a match. He is after all a 'defender' and is expected to repel attack after attack.

He still lacks kicking, handball and thinking skills. His deficiencies may not have been as obvious of late as we have won 7 of the past 8 games and the midfield has frequently disrupted to quality of opponents forays into their attacking zone. Also he is playing in the easiest position on the ground to play.

My opinion of him hasn't changed and I think him incapable of making big improvements after so many years with us.

This year he is the worst player of the team at going to ground!!

I agree with TheMase, that once the injuries are gone, so is Warfey. He definitely has been improving and will always provide himself as a reliable option when there are injury times.

Hes just out of my 22 selections. But if there are injuries, he'd be on the bench.
