    Ineptness of the Swans

For some of you relative newcomers to the Swans, you may not have witnessed the Swans at their inept best.

Currently Fox Footy (15) has the final quarter against the Saints in 1994 on at the moment. Swans are 48 points up with 15 min to go in the game. Guess what happens... Still can't bear to watch as I remember it all too well...

Never seen the game - before my time - but doesn't this one have a particular significance in the recent history of the club? I've read comments from Barassi that his key thought after that game was that he had to get one T Lockett to the Swans.

I was out at the SCG that day - and virtually everyone there just hated Plugger and wanted him to contract a nasty and painful disease.

Solution to the problem.....whip out the digital video editor and put a swans jumper on Plugger. The game will look quite different then!

I remember watching this game live though I can't remember if it was on TV or I was at the game (I wasn't a regular attendee then). I just couldn't believe that last quarter.

It has happened since as well. Remember a few years back when North kicked something like nine goals in seven minutes to just blow us away?

This year it seems that we are the team that can do that and it makes me very happy.

Yep - this was that game!! And some people were up in arms as Lockett had destroyed Caven's nose during the game. Lockett came to the Swans the following year.

The other nice thing about watching that game is seeing the contrast between the quality of our players then (pretty poor) and now (lots of promise).

I'd never hated anyone til I watched lockett carve us up like that! And to hear the highly unpopulated o'reilly stand chanting "lockett's a Walrus!" for quite some time was very satisfying!

At that game, and you maybe able to hear it over the telly, a couple of people yelling out -

                "RING THE @@@@ING SIREN!!!!!!!"

Strangely, that game was what made me take out a swans membership !

Despite the distress caused by the piglet on field, cavens smashed jaw, and the swanettes being belted by plugger a good day was had by all.

Made me realise what i was missing !

Never forget that day, where plugger murdered us, it was just phenomenal what he did to us that particular day.

                      I was brought to tears.

Still cannot believe it happened to be truthful.

I was there as a part of my 8th birthday present froma friend, it was one of my first AFL experiences. I willnever forget the site of that pig running around that field weaving in and out. Best performance by a swan was the player whos name eludes me who dove on the painted farm animal

It was before my time by a few weeks. My first live game was round 22, 1994... I probably watched the St Kilda one on TV, but I have no memory of it.

Oh how I remember that game as if it were yesterday, sitting at my mum's place I think I was listening to it on the radio as it wasn't shown in Melb live, feel free to correct me if I am wrong. I have memories of chasing a very active 2 year old around (nothing has changed and he is 11 now) yelling out please let me listen to the footy, we are going to win.

                            Then it happened!

Right lets answer a few questions

The game was May 8 1994 and watching it ruined my 12th birthday. The game was LIVE on 7 Anni. Also the Pigglet wasn't let onto the ground this day. The day it was in a game Lockett wasn't playing in (that was 1993)
                              Once was, now elsewhere
