They aren't official. Just Matt Burgan's opinions.

Now that I have a closer look, it's rather interesting to note that everyone has been panning our backline strength and lauding our forward setup, yet we have a player in both the back and half back lines, and another backline player on the emergency list of the allies, midfielder types spread across all the teams, and only one real forward type (in ball) actually listed (I class Goodsey as a midfielder type these days seeing as he only goes forward or back for a rest!). So either everyone has paid closer attention to the backline, looking for them to fall over, and has been pleasantly surprised, or they were expecting more of the forward line and has been disappointed. or there's a third possibility that i haven't thought of yet!

I take these with a grain of salt. Their not official so its not that important. Good however to see them get noticed

they are not official but every year journos tend to do them. From our point of view interesting to see Bolton get an Allies berth before Davis.

I know you really have to be bloody good to get in the forward line of the Vic squad, but Baz would not be out of place in that team...bit unlucky IMO.

Yes, I was very pleased to see these sides as I thought they were a pretty accurate reflection of the year. There was another article (Could have been Dermie in the Age) which had basically no Swans but did things such as selecting McVeigh, Green and Rioli to Start for the Allies, yet made no mention of Bolton, Kirk, Williams, Davis or Schneider. Duh!!!

Also named some very average defenders (Can't remember who!) with no mention of Bolton, Barry, Kennelly or Mathews. Duh!!! Again.

Geez, you'd have O'Loughlin over Martin Pike at HFF for SA wouldn't you? Honestly, what is the bloke thinking?

Crouch not even mentioned in the "Just missed out" brigade, but Nicks and Seymour were!
