Theres a bit of negativeity here, we are as good as most sides going around, so surely the double chance would be better, then we don't have the risk of going out in the first week.

We should be aiming as high as possible, I reckon we are as good as the eagles (the media will tell you otherwise) and Brisbane aren't the dominant force that they were last year.
The true test will be this week, against Port Adelaide.

We are only one game off the top of the ladder.
Aim as high as possible, for mine.

It was very clearly stated in the recent press releases that if no Victorian teams qualify 1st, 2nd, 5th or 6th, then the sixth placed team would host an MCG Final...no exceptions.

Next round the same, lowest qualifying hoster plays at the 'G (unless there is a Victorian team who has earned a home final).

Same for the preliminary Final. So to answer the question, finishing 5th is an absolute dead cert home final...the winner of that game to play away to the loser of 1st v 4th for a spot in the Preliminary Final against winner of 2nd v 3rd (which will almost certainly be played at the 'G).

The Semi Final (vs probably the 4th team) will probably be at the 'G too as the loser of 2 v 3 will be the top qualifier and there are only two matches that weekend.

It's still unfair, and it still sucks. And I'm still hopeful of a change.

          BUT.

We have to make the most of what we've got. This isn't the first time that there's been some shonky finals dealings with the MCG. Anyone else remember the 1997 GF? When they put on sale a few hundred MCC or whatever tickets, an hour and a half before the game, thus preventing any Adelaide fans from snapping them up? The MCG Trust plays dirty. We know it. And we're gonna beat it.

This whole fight MUST be fought again next year, if nothing can be done about it this year. This is the AUSTRALIAN Football League... there's no 'V' there.
