    Past Aboriginal Sydney Swans?

    Hey Gang,
I've decided to track down as many past aboriginal Swans players as possible and try to record a "When you were a Swan/ where are they now" interview with them for airing on my Koori Radio Sport show.

I only want aboriginal players that have played for the Sydney Swans, so can you help me compile a list and any information that you've heard where I might find them, would be greatly appreciated. If I get enough material I will try to put all the interviews together on CD or CD's to archive them.

Unfortunately the Swans weren't able to help me with a list so you guys and yearbooks are my only hope.

    Thanks,
    TG

Sanford Wheeler was definitely an American. He used to work for me at WordPerfect in the early nineties!

Stanislaus - I knew there were two in the 90s and another in the 50s or 60s but the name escapes me.

I know Phil Krakouer was drafted - did he actually play a game though?

Would be like claiming Brad Hardie

Yeah - thought I'd put a question mark against that one. I could remember him and thought he had dreadies or similar and looked more African American than Aboriginal, but couldn't recall whether any Americans had played the game.

Matthew Ahmat came in the mid season draft 93 Luffy - delisted at end of the year but did play senior footy - during the time you had your knee reco.

Maurice Rioli wanted to sign with Sydney (as did David Cloke) - the then VFL introduced the salary cap to stop Sydney 'buying' - so Rioli never played a game.

In their wisdom the VFL allowed Carlton to only include half of their interstate recruits (Kernahan, Bradley and Motley) salaries under the cap.
