Being a Collingwood supporter was really depressing - I tried to look for positives - and there weren't many!

Yep - I am a fan of Tarrant but but he has that 'headcase' likely to be frustrating talent written all over him.

If he had gone to a club like Carlton or S&Don they probably would have been able to get the rough edges off him / improve his consistency - we'll see how he goes.

But after him the cupboard is pretty bare

Collingwood is starting to get shown up this year. Cloke is nothing special... Davis is just another skin-and-bones small forward aboriginal with a bit of talent, but absolutely no work ethic. O'Bree is a passenger... Fraser has to be one of the most dissappointing players going around. Freeborn, Betheras etc are no-names for a reason.

Dig below Buckley, Tarrant and Licuria, and there isn't that much there.

I don't necessarily fully agree Reggi, I watch most of the Melbourne teams quite a bit being down here. I think Cole has quite a lot of talent, just a few rough edges, one of the strongest young players I have seen, good tackler with pace. Tarrant and Fraser and Lonie are pretty talented as well. If you looked at our youngsters last year and compared them with theirs they would have been ahead, it's sometimes a season to season thing. Schneider for eg. next year could be a bit like Leon Davis who has talent but is inconsistent. They are being scrutinised a lot this year because of last year's success, maybe we are in a honeymoon period and things have gone well on the injury front. In fairness to them they also had Nick Davis as a promising talent and I think we would be disappointed to lose someone so talented for a second round pick. When we lost Rocca and Shannon Grant we were properly compensated.

My mates from High school are Collingwood supporters who drag me along to a few games each.

Cole doesn't look like special - looks like a back flanker - he's pretty much a 'developed player'.

I have no time for Ryan Lonie - played a good finals series - isn't a flash player - he avoids contests - like many C/wood players has a reputation cause he kicks 'cute' goals.

I can't see the point of Josh Fraser - he isn't strong enough to ruck well - and he isn't quick enough to play on a flank - and his big let down - incredibly soft - never makes physical contests - he and 'Neon' Leon have the same problem - fantastic players against crap sides. Watching him isn't like watching Goodes - his opposition gives him no respect as a player

But really another pre-season will determine whether Fraser would be much good. Didak has talent but seems to lack application. Tarrant will be a superstar.

Skill level of many of their players is deplorable.

Actually if you go and look at the stats for our younger guys last year you find that most of our guys performed better - that Collingwood side was carried by Buckley Burns Wakelin Prestiagiacomo Freeborn Licuria Rocca - mostly guys in their mid to late 20s. Whenever I saw them those guys were consistenly good - couldn't say it about their younger players.

I tipped the best Collingwood could do this year was 6 - when Buckley and Burns retire - or lose form they will be a very ordinary team. Not forgetting they are going ordinary with not many injury problems.

They have one of the worst players I have ever seen play at AFL level Mark McGough. I have honoured him is the centreline in the worst side I have seen

I just hope he gets traded to St Kilda so they all played for the saints
