Barass and Hafey are technically are two greatest coaches - in terms of the records they brought to the club.

Barass was great in terms of rebuilding the club to a point where we had a playing list that could at least deliver consistent performances.

Eade is the greatest coach we have had since moving up here - Grand Final plus consistent final appearances. Remember that he is the only coach in Sydney to win a final. (Hafey failed in that regard). Basically Eade was one win away in 96 from being a legendary coach, that win, I believe, would have ensured he coached a club this year.

Roos - as much as I love him, still has a lot to prove. It makes me cringe that so many supporters rate him in a Mathews or Blight class yet - I pray he gets there because it means my club will get a premiership, but it is ridiculous to compare him to anything just yet - he hasn't proved a thing. So far what he has delivered is no different to Eade at the same time 96 or Wallace with the Bulldogs in 97.

No it won't. Sustained ineptness will always bring ineptness because it is sustained.

Well said Scurra. I can't see how if you are shouse and continue to play shouse that you can become good. If you are shouse and keep playing shouse you will always be shouse, because amongst other things you will think and believe you are shouse.

Exactly what happened in our darkest years of 93 and 94 under Buckerina.

Like wot I sez to me soccer mates - jus cos you like footy , it don't mean you have to be ignorant.
Well one thing here English teacher is this. All your coaches have never come from NSW! Your best players are not from NSW and if and when you do get a flag it will not be due to NSW experience!

....yet not quite as woeful as Tom Hafey. How Hafey never won a premiership with that team is bewildering. Even more unfathomable is how they never even got to win a final. This bloke had the cattle, Buckenara inherited a basketcase.
It's very hard to live in a studio apartment in San Jose with a man who's learning to play violin. That's what she told the police when she handed them the empty revolver.

You've forgotten about Bob Hammond and John Northey as well

Was watching a replay of an '86 game against the Bullies, two things stood out, the ol' chestnut about a champion team, and the fact we never had a decent ruckman. Those two things cost us in the finals IMO.
