O'Keefe is a very good kick like our other lefties over the past 10 years

Bayes, Grant, Kappler, Maxfield, Lewis, Schwass.

I can't think of a poor left foot kick who we have had in the last decade.

BUT ROK in the mid -field -No way. He is too lazy and not fit enough.

Half forward, Wing or half back YES, with an occassional run on the ball.

He is a very good goalkicker as well

O'keefe works for me as Cressa's replacement - NOG is a handy back up on what I saw .....

Being my fav, I tend to notice his play off the ball as well as on and I can assure you, he's anything but lazy. He may lack Willo like pace, but he certainly runs all game.

Sorry son of Barney & Betty, but your comments are made with your heart and not your head.

ROK has poor fitness levels. He has never been a mid-fielder and with his aerobic capacity will never be either. He floats in and out of games and does not have the intensity of Jude and others to be a mid-fielder.

He plays off the bench because he can't run out a full game.

Look I'm not critical of him , but let's make better use of him near goals, where his skills are better than say Jude's.

No way is he a mid-fielder

i beg to differ, he has played 35 games, bit harsh to write him off in that position just yet...

he has the in-an-under capacity as well as being able to be the link man, he also puts on plenty of pressure on the ball carrier (see r murphey and mcphee footage)... i think he can be a midfielder, did he have a full preseason?

as far as I know it was uniterupted. he did have problems last year with a shoulder and knee.

Roscoe I'm not disagreeing with you regarding his suitablility to CHF / CHB, he provided a lot of push forward along the wing in 4/4 last week from CBH, but I have seen him play in the reserves in the midfield and he did ok. Granted the level between Seniors and Reserves differs greatly, but don't write him off.

I may be writing in part with my heart, but I've also given it some thought.

Penga, My point still stands I would be happy for him just to string a few good games together before I would even start considering him as a replacement.

How would any of us really know what his fitness levels are? He was coming in the top handful in most of the pre-season timed sessions that were reported in the media - ie the time trials and the triathlon. Clearly this type of exercise is different to playing a game of footy but I suspect its simplistic just to label his fitness as ordinary.

Maybe the reason (and again speculation, possible alternative explanations only) that he doesn't get to as many contests as a JB is that he's not as good at reading the play and thus getting to where the ball / contest is about to be rather than where it has just been, or maybe he doesn't have the self confidence in his ability at top level, or maybe just he's been given different roles to play.

O'Keefe was an under age midfielder and as I recall was recruited for the midfiled.

I also remember people saying Jude Bolton was played of the bench because he couldn't see out a game, and Eade also put Maxfield into the over the hill bunch by playing him off the bench for the same reason.

Hard to see O'Keefe getting the chance to play a full game in the midfield to show his wares. On fitness, I doubt at this level and on a team perspective that he lacks fitness. It's probably where he currently fits into the team that doesn't allow him lengthy times on the ball.

All things being eqaul and we had the right match up's down back I would love to see C. Bolton.

From what I read prior to him being drafted he would be a fine centreman/on-baller.

Penga, what do you think? any merit.

I think that it's a little early to start predicting who'll fill Cressa's role. First, he's still got at least 2 months of footy left, hopefully 3. Second, with most of the contenders having played less than 10 games (if at all), I don't think we can really say what exact role they'll have.

Cress won't be easily replaced - that much I'm sure of.
