Public Transport (City Rail) changes for the St Kilda game.

The Illawarra rail line was completely closed over last weekend due to a track upgrade, buses replaced trains on this line (Rockdale, Hurstville, Cronulla, Sutherland, Waterfall Wollongong/Illawarra, South Coast) but delays of over one hour were expected.

The City Rail situation this weekend will be even worse as the East Hills/Airport/Southern, Bankstown, Olympic Park, Cumberland and Western lines will all be closed from 2am on Saturday (12th) ?till 2am on Monday (14th), as well as some City Circle services. Buses will replace rail services on these lines but significant delays can be expected; so if any RWOer or their friends are heading to the Swans v St Kilda game this Saturday night and planned to use the train, make sure you give yourself plenty of time to get to the SCG.

The areas affected include those from Bankstown, Cabramatta, Strathfield, Kingsgrove to Central and Richmond to Parramatta. Other lines will be running at reduced capacity, so if you use the rail service to get to the footy make sure you check out the situation on your line at this City Rail website.
