    Buchanan and Schneider

These kids are very similar types and both seem to have a bright future, I think we have to trial Buchanan and Schneider together in the seniors. They can both play midfield roles and both are good crumming forwards.

Schneider can take strong marks and is excellent at ground level, where as Buchanan is better at ground level, and is not really a mark-taker.

Trial them both in the side I reckon.

    Thoughts??

I can't see both of them being in the same side. One small crumbing forward (I don't really see Schneider being successful in the middle) is good... two is a small forwardline.

You don't see Schneider being successful in the middle? May I ask why? He is about same height as Paul Williams? He averaged 33 possessions in the TAC CUP as a midfielder and he was recruited as a midfielder. Roos has said that Schneids will play in the midfield in the future ....... so why again won't he be a midfielder ??

I think Schneider would go well in the middle, but not this year. I don't see why both couldn't be in the same side, if they are both prepared to push up the ground to find the ball.

He's a little slow. Before you pull out Greg Williams... let's remember that Williams was one of the most gifted players ever to pull on a boot. Schneider isn't quite at THAT level yet.

You will definitely be seeing it. Schneids is working his butt off with the midfield and fitness coaching staff to get right for midfield action next season.

I am licking my chops at the prospect of Schnieds kicking goals ala Willo from the midfield. He will toughen up, get the endurance he needs and hopefully take his illusive skills into the middle!

Man, I'd like to be that slow!!!!!! He's certainly fast enough on the burst IMO Charlie. I suspect you maybe confusing this with his fitness which sees him blowing a bit hard at the end of games I think.
He's certainly quick enough for the midfield and a hell of a lot quicker than Diesel ever was.

Certainly at this stage Schneider and Buchanan have really both only played the same position so far - hf/fp crumber - and adam has definately gone past buchanan in that role. However like others said i think adam will go into the midfield and buchanan will take over adams current role.
Buchanan has alot of talent to burn - we may have forgotten - he was the most eagerly anticipated youngster to debut last year.

I dont know why people are hot on Buchanan. I am not sold on him. His pace is slow and he is one-position player. I dont see anywhere any good reporting of him playing in the midfield.

                          Yeah Charlie,
you are quite an astute poster on this board. But I think your opinion that you can't see Schneider performing in the midfeild is premature and misguided. At this stage this kid could be anything in the midfeild.
