Unless Saints make a significant turn around and it looks like they won't.
Sheahan's article and On The Couch last night pretty much summed up where this mob are at. I am not so worried about them playing has-beens, Bourkey etc, as opposed to their young brigade losing direction, Clarke etc!
They are a raw talented side the Saints but they lack direction and management and their season has officially derailed in my opinion and Cornflakes Thomas should resign at year's end!
The Pain of Discipline is Nothing Like The Pain of Disappointment
Saints alway lift against us, the swans have 2 less days - Yes I'm worried - They need to save something of the season and knocking us off the perch will be their game plan
If it's anything like their last few efforts against us, they'll have their entire team in their d50. Except for Riewoldt, who'll act as their ruck, midfield and forward divisions.
To all those people who waited 72 years to see a South Melbourne/Sydney Swans premiership HERE IT IS!!
I believe we will win convincingly, though Saints will test us up to half time.
Only concern may be that Thomas will bring in some of his young guns who will be desperate to play well.
Saints have no reason to take a cautious approach on Saturday.
Originally posted by TheHood Ruey got towelled up by Hirdy last week, I'm hoping his confidence will be dented.
Key Match-Ups:
Max on Mick
Austin on Schneids
Saddo on Ruey
Kosie (or Fraser) on Goodesy
Kirk on Clarke
Crouch on Milne
Schaubes on Fraser(?)
Any thoughts?
I think you will find that Fraser is way to quick for Schuable, my tip is Kennelly - has height and pace to match as well as good at ground level.
Kirk wont get clarke, he will get Haynes or Harvey.
I hope we do win , but it is no gimme, the next three weeks we will be starting warm favourites and if we live up to that tag will be in the finals guarenteed.
Hopefully Baker gets the week that he deserves... he's their best tagger and without him, look out for Jude, Willo and Cressa to run wild. They've only got that hack Lawrence to counter them with.
Hopefully Burke, Milne, Lawrence and Peckett will play... these guys aren't good enough at the moment.
Riewoldt and Goodes will go toe to toe... but will generally let each other do their own thing.
Knobel won't be any sort of match for the combo of Ball, Goodes and LRT/Meiklejohn.
Kossie will take Hall... I HOPE Hudghton gets Mick... really they have little choice. X Clarke will play on Davis, and Davis has the experience to beat him.
Schauble will get first crack at Gehrig... if that doesn't work, probably Saddo if he plays. The rest of their forward line is suitably screwed though, that Gehrig can kick 3-4 and it shouldn't be too damaging.
It adds up to the Swans being better pretty much everywhere... we've just GOT to be switched on though.
