    Umpires!!!

3 frees in front of goal - NONE of them genuine.

The first two were there but, were soft and normally not given, the third one was a Dog act from the umpire.

Still it was a good sign that St Kilda, couldn't get a goal from open play.

I didn't see a close up of the first but it certaily looked soft at best. The second and third goals simply weren't there. Still the free kick count ended up 22-13 our way plus a dodgy 50m to Ball, so we can't complain really. Although most of the free kicks later in the game came when STK lost it and got ragged.

Look I felt that the first 3 shouldn't of been paid, but the first 2 at least were there, but you have to wonder why we didn't get paid simular free kicks up our end.

Well, the umpires let St Kilda in the game early on with those decisions. But the better team won in the end. Some poor decisions went our way as well though.
Using hypothesis testing via confidence intervals:
Nick Davis mark inside 50 = goal

It must of been troubling for the Saints that their goals in the first quarter all came from free kicks. To me that was a good sign

I have to laugh at milne - he must have thought he was in for a big nite after he got that lucky free in the 1st, but once again was killed - this time by crouch - good revenge for crouch after milne murdered him in that drawn game last year. Crouchy would have set himself for this job after early last year. Albiet fixter would have got the job if he was playing.

Thought the first one was reasonable but the other two were ridiculous. But then so was Ball's 50.

Inconsistent again on the holding the ball rule. Aussie Jones was very unlucky to get pinged for one, particularly when Leaping wasn't earlier in the game.

At least we know the umpiring had no impact on the outcome!

Ball's 50 was there, lucky to get it but it was there
                  Once was, now elsewhere

I actually had a bad feeling when we had 3 frees for goals against us where 2 at least were dodgy. I thought that by the time they had their 3rd and we had missed a few shots, that it could really just set them in motion, luckily for us that didn't happen.

Again what frustrated me so much about the umpiring tonight was the lack of consistency. I don't care if umpiring is bad, as long as its consistently bad across all 3 for a particular game.

                    I'm on the Chandwagon!!!

If you cannot compete for the premiership, it's better to be young and exciting than middle-aged and dowdy.

True - they made some shocking decisions .But if their decisions had been good we would not have enjoyed the great Aussie tradition of bagging the umpires.

I think my boy got it right when he called the number three a "Schmitthead"!
