For a 51 point win... I'm very quiet. That's because it should've been more like 80 or 90.

Probablt due to the fact that most of our scoring shots were snaps. Only 2 goals (Davis, Magic) 5 points from our key forwards!

Sorry, guys, to be a bit emotional here, but you can't play finals with a such bad kicking at goals. They'll have to straighten up! You can't win games kicking like this. Finals are serious stuff.
On the other hand you might also say that the team exceeded our expectations so far, because nobody expected that they would get that far.
After the game against Carlton next week we'll know what to expect, till then enjoy tonight's win.

Most of our behinds came from kicks outside 50 or rushed behinds. Very few easy misses I think. If we did kick stright it still for of been 12 or 15 behinds anyway

Same here, I was very satisfied with how things went tonight - apart from the accuracy - we dominated the ruck as expected, clearances, breaks, marks inside 50, entries into 50 etc and based on those stats it should have been at least a 6-7 goal more win.

I reckon its something we should be worrying about. We had a good conversion rate at the first half of the season and we've dropped down considerably.

Mickey O was a bit off today and always disappointing to see Bazza not get a bag. But he did set up a few goals and crash through some packs.
Using hypothesis testing via confidence intervals:
Nick Davis mark inside 50 = goal

It is a concern, and they will practice it during the week, as you said we were comp leaders for accuracy no so long ago, so it suggests as Roosy said it can be a mental thing and that is harder to fix.

                  I must be getting spoilt.

We win by 50 points in a scrappy game and I feel flat !

Really liked the efforts of our talls Goodes ,Ball and Schauble

Saddo "eased " himself back in tonight

                  Nicks was lively tonight.

We must win our next 2 against Carlton (who come back from W.A.) and Freo

How will Carlton react to a 116 point loss.

I reckon we can expect a repeat of the Vs Aints game at Telstra Lid - stack the backline - play ugly - try and restrict the scoring - especially on the smaller ground.

                    Could be ugly footy

The question is - How bad are St Kilda? We were hilariously inept at times, minimal contribution from our designated forwards, but still flogged the Saints by 50 points!

Was it Leigh Matthews who had an article a few weeks back praising our accuracy but wondering how long it would last?...

177th Senior AFL Match - Round 4, 2009 - Sydney vs Carlton, SCG. This is obviously out of date. I suppose I'll update it once I could be bothered sitting down with the fixture and working it out....

Guess it is better to get it out of the system when we are playing sides as bad as the Aints were tonight. Mind you, it might have cost us against the Power - hard to tell really what might have happened if we'd led by 5 goals at that first change, like we should have done.

One of the guys sitting behind me tonight raised an interesting thought about why the skills haven't been that fluent since the break. Up to that point the lads were just going out and playing footy and not worrying too much about the outcome. But now, despite Roos refusing to use the 'F' word, they must realise they are now playing for big stakes. Is it getting to them?

Just one of those nights in front of goal I guess. Maybe the mediocrity of the game just flowed into our goalkicking....who knows?

If someone had told me before the game we would win 112-61, I would have jumped at it. If they had offered the 112 points coming from 15.22, I wouldn't have liked it, but would still have taken it. The fact is, we won a game we were expected to win, and that's the most important thing. Its not like we haven't been kicking straight this year, on the whole we have, so we know we can do it. Hopefully they will gt back to pre-bye round ways next week.

I found it quite ironic that Cressa had 10.0 until late in the 4th (admittedly with about 4 OOBOTFs though), and then missed probably the easiest shot of all that he's had this season for his first behind.

                          I'm on the Chandwagon!!!

If you cannot compete for the premiership, it's better to be young and exciting than middle-aged and dowdy.

But when you have Matthew Nicks playing in the forward line you are always guaranteed to have somebody who'll kick 2.4 or something like that.

My thoughts on Barry Hall are no secret. Not only is he lazy in his attempts to mark the football, but from 15-30 metres he often tries to just steer the ball through rather than follow through.

Barry Hall's lack of team focus is of GRAVE concern to me. Of course when he spoilt Nicks about 15 metres from me, I was near ropable. But his lack of 1%s is of huge concern. We would hate to be in a final with a forward set to take a certain mark, only for one B Hall to try and take it himself.

Personally I wasn't happy with the forward line tonight. Micky was heavily, and successfully, marked. With both Barry, and Jason Ball up there we really lacked a forward line crumber (Schneider aside). Apart from O'Keefe, who I rate as a very handy forward, the Saints got the ball out of defence too easily tonight, even if most of the time their kicks went flat across the backline rather than down the guts.

What are your thoughts? Do you reckon Ball should stay in the ruck? Or be a tall forward. LRT was a bit of a worry tonight, and seriously looks to be a bit underdone, both in terms of his confidence and his kicking in general. Should he be give a spell in the 2s? Or perservered with in the seniors?

That is just utter garbage. His 1% have been fantastic.

Honestly, have a night off from the asylum behind the goals and sit in a stand and watch the game.
