    Optus Oval

Just wondering where the best place to sit is at Optus.

I have been there once before and had to stand behind the goals (at the uni end?) which kind of sucked. Is there a GA section in the legends stand and if so is it seating? If I bought a GA ticket from ticketek would this enable me to sit in the Legends stand?

Apparently GA tickets are available for Legends Lower Stand. Here's the info you should look at:

    SEATING INFORMATION:
Gen Adm = General Admission - Legends Lower

    Legends Upper = Reserved Seating

Restricted View = Restricted View Seats - Legends Upper

    Pratt Stand = Reserved Seating

    RESTRICTED VIEW SEATING:
There are Restricted View Seats which are in Bays 5 to 17 in the Legends Stand and also in the Pratt Stand. These seats may go on sale closer to match day, pending if no other seats are available.

    TEAM SUPPORTERS BAYS:
Carlton Supporters Only: Legends Upper Bays 14-17
Opposition Team Supporters Only: Legends Upper Bays 5-6

    I hope this helps.

      Thanks SXP

Does this mean that Gen Admin is seating or standing?

A ticket in the GA will entitle you to sit in the lower level of the Legend Stand
        Once was, now elsewhere

I normally sit on the wing in front of the Legends stand. I'm an AFL member but i think it's open to the General Public. It is a pretty good viewing spot.

There is GA seating, but not much. If you don't arrive early, you will only get standing room with a GA ticket.

Anywhere away from an exit as the view gets blocked after 3/4 time as the Carlton "faithful" head for the door!!!

I purchased 4 tickets through ticketek in Exhibition Street in the Legends Stand, between the forward pocket and half forward.

They are seats, I agree standing would suck in a big way

So basically even though you can purchase GA tickets on the lower level of the Legends Stand, you might not get a seat? I thought it would be like the SCG/SA where all Gen Admin is seating.

No. I went to the Lions v Blues game, arrived about 1.20pm and we could only get standing room GA, otherwise it was $35 for a reserved seat.

No, what I mean is that I have purchsed my tickets on Ticketek already (Gen Admin), so does this guarantee me a seat or is it still possible that we may have to stand?

I'm afraid, Craig, you'll have to get there earlier. Seats are never guaranteed for GA tickets at OO. They'll let you in, but that does not mean you'll have also a seat. Get in earlier, let's say 12 noon, which might guarantee you a seat. After Blues' perfomance last week I don't think the Blues supporters will flock to the game, and yet you never know.

We sit on the wing with Plugger 46 and his push. There are about 8 rows of seating in front of the Legends Stand at the cost of a GA Ticket. We get there about midday to ensure a seat which means a bit of a wait, but I am entertained by the crap that Plugger and his old man talk. Pluggers mum at least knows what she is talking about.

Don't be too disappointed with the standing room area. It is right on the wing with a good view, and probably provides for plenty of banter and good humour, like the good old days at the VFL suburban grounds, when footy was really footy.
