Aker, Mal Michael,... whats on offer

OK, I know we love to play virtual drafting, here is an article with everyone coming out of contract and what each club will be looking for. Pity it doesn't have how much they'd all cost.

I agree with the author - the Swannies need a grunty big backman.

And nine of the sixteen clubs are listed as needing KP defenders!

Big muscular men do grow on trees in this country - how come there are only about ten playing in the AFL? Weird. I guess there's the small matter of having to be able to run ten k and kick a wee ball around as well.

Are clubs not drafting young gorillas any more because they are not as skillful as your Judds and Cooneys? Every year the same cry from so many clubs "We need a fullback!"

Maybe we could consider just going for a really big, tough kid somewhere low down the draft and then spend two years teaching him to punch a ball!

Yeah, I noticed that the All Blacks had 3 players over 205 cm and 120 Kg. Sheesh. Eat more lamb, maybe

with the likes of scotty lucas and mal michael on the market, it would be stupid to go after aker

imagine if we could snag michael and lucas, IMO lucas would be an almost perfect CHB for us, as with michael at FB

            Aaaarrrgggghhhh Lucas.

Reggi, DrJ hand me the pills. Somebody wants to trade with Essendon again!!! John the Don will be pi55ing himself.

            Lucas is SOFT and overated.

Great kick, no doubt, but I would vomit if we gave up anymore than McPherson or Warfe (or both) for him.

I'd take any of the Brisbane lot, but MM or Acker as priorities. I wanted us to grab MM when he came up for grabs last time at the wobbles, as a sidekick/eventual-replacement for Dunks. I think we also "nearly" got Lucas once before...about the time we were also "interested" in Lloyd. How old is Lucas now though...how much time could he give us? He has an advantage as being a goalkicker, but at CHB??? I can't help it, I just remember other great Essendon pickups like Ryan O'Connor and Bomford...I believe that CHB and FB are our weak points though, so we DO need someone...Saddo again demonstrated on the weekend his penchant for trying to mark the ball in a contest, rather than PUNCH it, and Schauble isn't a full back. He/Saddo should take a flank and we need a real full back to step into the breach...they aren't strong enough...Mal Michael, I think, would be a good pick up for us. He has matured enormously in body and smarts from the kid Plugger brushed aside on his way to goalkicking history...
OR David Wirrapunda!!! 70m torps from the backline on the SCG he'd be in the leading goalkickers...
Now McLeod...that would be a good pickup...Medhurst??? Nick Stevens....Sampi... maybe .Judd (we're closer to Melbourne than Perth is)
I think I'd pass on any of the Carlton, Richmond, Boozer offerings.
AND for once, I'd definitely pass on the pies...I'd even pay NOT to have Rocca back...
"Davis...Davis has kicked 2...he snaps from 40...dont tell me, dont tell me, hes kicked a goal....unbelievable stuff from Nick Davis, can you believe this, he's kicked 3 final quarter goals and Swans are within 3 points..."

LOL. The guy is a sook who wanted to play with his brother. I'm surprised he didn't follow Sav to Norf.

Big Mal would slot in nicely IMO.
