No you still are, you are a fool on many fronts, but in the case I made a mistake on Dirren, I admit that. It still doesn't change what I had to say on the 96 season.

      Hey P46
We still need people like you on this board for discussion.

Especially when you lead with your chin and sing the praises of
      people like Warfe

Yet bag your trio of Crouch, Barry and Matthews.

Oh well at least you don't like Frosty !!!!

I know Frosty will be struggling to play for the swans again. I admitt that. This will most likely be his last year. Frosty has been a good player for us over the years. Running out of the midfield. I agree he is not the best player goin round but i admire his hardness and his pace, dont get lead by certain people on the board. He has been good for us.

            Interesting, isn't it?

Dipper also things we will beat Brisbane at the gabba, and loose to Collingwood at home. He's a goose.

After today yes, if we play an interstate side.

We play well on the MCG and appear to be able to play our best footy there. The other interstate sides this year seem to drop a notch away from their own states.

Prefer that to say Collingwood or Essendon who should have a decided home ground advantage, however Essendon seem genuinely dogged by too much Telstra Dome.

To stay in the Final 4 we need to win at least 3 more matches out of 5. (This is being posted at end of Round 17)

TWO matches are virtually givens: Hawthorn (Round 19) and Melbourne (Round 22)

But where the extra win would come from is much harder:
Adelaide (AAMI Rd18), Lions (Gabba Rd20), or Collingwood (Telstra Stadium Rd21)

If we can win any of those 3 we'll also prove that we deserve the place in the final 4.
But it looks like a tough run home.

Of the 5 remaining, the Collingwood game is the one that I have most confidence.

I don't rate the Pies, they have had a p i s s easy run over the past 5 weeks. Theyr last 4 games are against Adel, Bris, Syd, Ess. We'll see what they are made of then

                        I hate them

We should hopefully be able to win against Collingwood which will give us the three of the five games to hopefully make the top four. It is a tough run home but hopefully we can prove why we should be in the finals, not just at the start, but hopefully at the business end. I'm looking forward to watching the Swannies on the TV next weekend and see what they can do in Adelaide.

No games are even close to being givens - even Carlton gave us a scare last week. Melbourne will be desparate to salvage some pride at the end of the season and they didn't play that badly against Essendon on Saturday. We'll be on their home turf, and they probably won't have forgotten the spoiling job we did on them at the end of last year when we were playing for nothing.

The Hawks are also capable of playing good footy when the mood suits them. It would be good if we were playing them this weekend, coming off a trip to Subiaco, but we're not. They still fancy themselves a chance for the 8, though one would think those hopes will be gone after this weekend after they play Port with a hangover.

Every game from here has to be thought of as winnable and as losable. If we're a true top 2 team there's no reason why they can't travel to Adelaide or Brisbane and pull off a win. Sure, they'll have to play well, but everyone assumes that Port will win whereever they roam (they started as favourites against Brisbane at the Gabba) so we should be in with at least a shot.

Against the Crows the key will be getting off to a decent start. The last few times we've played them we've just been asleep in the first quarter and the game has pretty much been lost by then. In the 2001 game we came back and dominated, and thus won. In the others we've pretty much matched the Crows after their early dominance but its all been too little too late.

Oh - and finding a ruckman from somewhere might help!

1933 the last flag team was captained by an ex-richmond player, in 2003 an ex-richmond is appointed captain !!!!

Will be much harder now without Jason Ball - out for the season.

There goes Goodesy's mobilty. Unless Doyle can come in quickly and be effective.
