    Accomodation for collingwood game?

This question may have(in fact i'm pretty sure it has,i just can't find the thread)been asked before, but can anybody help me out with where the best, closest (at a reasonable price)place is to stay to Stade Oz when i come up for this game?
    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Cheers

The only hotel at the ground is the novatel (?) which would be cool to stay at after the game, but there is nothing else out there at all expect the bar underneath which would close by the last trains at about midnight.

Probably best bet is to get a flight/hotel package and stay in the city. Dont stay at Kingscross as its on the wrong side of town.

I think there was a thing happening with melbourne and sydney people where we all swapped details so that the next time some1 was interstate, there would be people to contact etc. So i'll go first and say we've got a spare bed so if some1 needs a bed, we can provide here at my house

I emailed Grant with this info, but anyone else who's interested:

There is a F1 at Enfield on the Hume highway which is $59 for up to 3 people, it's about a 10 minute drive from the stadium.

          also close by are

The liberty plains motor Inn at Lidcombe
02 96496554 - this is located on a main road
          Lidcombe motor Inn
02 96465799 - is located off the main drag in a quiet side street,

These are both just down the road in opposite directions from Lidcombe Station, which is where you can catch the train from to go to Olympic Park

These are also walking distance from the ground, but it would be a hike.

There is also the Markets Motel
02 97643500 - this is located on Parramatta rd so the noise factor could be high as it is a main road. I can't recall what this looks like so I can't offer comment on it.

If you are driving to Sydney and want to drive to the game parking needs to be prebooked to ensure a space and costs $10.

The Novotel at Olympic Park is the closest but cost may be a factor in staying there 02 87621111

          hope this helps out

I'll probably stay at the Travelodge in Wentworth Ave, an easy walk to and from Central Station.
Last year we stayed at a hotel not far from the Airport but it was difficult and expensive to get to and from the game by taxi.
(Unless I take the bed at Gemmas - but i do have to be at the airport by 7.30am)

The parking is $11.30+postage (not $10) for carparks P1 and P3 which are multilevel. (There are also $14.80 tickets but I have no idea what the difference is)

There is also the HUGE outdoor P5 for which you do NOT need to prebook. This is some distance from SA but I think a shuttle bus is ptovided.

You can get good budget accomodation at the Concord West hotel which is approx 20-30 mins walk to Stadium Australia (throught he park). And I also recommend it as an alternate destination for a post game drink (instead of Olympic Park). You can read about it here.

You might want try the Comfort Inn at West Ryde on Victoria Rd.

I'm pretty sure you could get a bus that would be going near the ground.

If you're going up for soley the game, then find a convienient hotel.

If you're going up for the weekend and are in the mood to party, the Coogie Bay hotel is pretty cool.

If I go up for the Eddie game I'll be there

For 2 adults and 3 kids to stay at the Novotel in the ex suite is approx $450. includes parking, spa, etc
This is our Sydney weekend AFL splurge.
After 11 games of sitting in traffic on the way to the SCG or the carpark afterwards a 2 minute walk back to the room is perfect.
On the Sunday we normally go to the markets at Homebush. or spend a quite day recovering.
There is also the Ibis that is cheper (we need 2 rooms with the 5 of us)
What ever you do enjoy yourself.
