    Umpiring decisions...?

Can someone tell me whether kneeing the ball constitutes a kick? Re: Barry Hall's "out on the full."

What about Willo? Apparently, he was strong enough to pull down their #9 (is that Polak? I can't remember, but he was huge, like most of the Dockers) in the goalsquare, as he was jumping for the mark, with a slight nudge on the hip!!! I didn't know that Willo was actually Clark Kent.

Also, nothing anyone says will convince me that Trent Croad took that mark, and there was also a shocking holding the ball decision.

We are getting slaughtered by the umps AGAIN!

I didn't want to say it. I assumed it was just me.

It seams to be every week, and not just poor decisions, but poor decisions in front of goal.

Willo tripped and knocked the Freo player. Unfortunate but a free.

The Hall one appeared OOBOTF, however he was tackled high beforehand.

The Micky O "throwing the ball" seemed rather strange seeing as the ball was knocked out of his hand.

The holding the ball against Stevens after the bounce, when he came in from CHF, was a joke.

Croad's mark on 50, in the first qtr, was fair. Croad's free against Barry was probably there too as Barry was not watching the ball when he hit him.

Of course, you'll notice that Goldspink is umpiring today. A few high tackles against us seem not to have been noticed.

Kirk nearly beheaded. No free. Goes down other end for goal. Perspiration is developing on my forehead.

Fosdike held without it. In front of umpire. No free. Medhurst goal. Remote hits television. I can't put it back on channel. So I guess I won't be watching the rest.

I wouldn't bother - this is the most @@@@ing pathetic effort in months - probably the year!

Strange thing is we're killing in the clearances where we usually struggle. Also, interesting stat: Tackle count Freo 40 Swans 15. What's going on here?

We were first to the ball the whole first half.

Well, thankfully they had a nice burst in the last qtr. Still, not a great effort overall though. Good to see they know how to finish at least.

I was killing myself laughing at many of those umpiring decisions - even though they were going against us they were just so ridiculous I couldn't help myself. We got a couple of softish ones in the second half but the first half was a joke. I reckon 4 of the first 6 Freo goals came from soft as - or non-existent - frees against us.

I thought the three goals from free kicks were there:

                          - Williams' accidental elbow to Farmer's head - definite free kick

                          - Williams tripped and fell into the back of a Freo player - definite free kick

                          - Barry ran front-on into Croad without looking at the ball - definite free kick

I thought there were a number of other dodgy ones thereabouts, but these were just careless play.

I think I'm more annoyed about the ones that weren't paid, a few head highs and some throwing. I agree with NMWBloods that the ones that led to the goals were definitely there. Its worrying though that we give quite so many free kicks in the def 50. Same thing seem to happen against the Saints.

The most obvious one for us was about 15 metres out from goal in the last quarter, with the clear holding and bringing down of Stevens. The umpire was in perfect position to see it but chose to ignore it. Perhaps the lack of guts with the game in the balance.

I thought though the second half umpiring overall was OK.
