    What Happened In The Ressies?

    Could any of the Sydney fraternity tell us what happened in the ressies?
    It is a real information drought for the Melbourne supporters these days, and especially concerning now that injuries are becoming a major factor.

    They lost by 9 points. Here are the listed goalkickers and best players from the Sportingpulse site.

    Best Players: James; Hunt; McPherson; Potter;
    Goal Kickers: Hunt 3; McPherson 2; Thewliss 2; James 2; McGlone 1; McVeigh 1; Perrett 1; Potter 1;

    Interesting to see Potter there. I presume that's the same Potter who starred for NSW in the recent U18 championships.

    Also good to see that James and Hunt had good games. Hunt is probably the most likely KPP player running around in the ressies, based on height but still looks pretty skinny. Weird though that he seems to be being played as a forward when we need to groom a key backman or two.

            Heath is building up game time and playing solidly.

            I think we're missing James Meiklejohn, as the past 2 games (excluding Tuggeranong, who just aren't up there) we have come away with losses, both played without him.

            I also think we missed Scott Stevens out there, as he was replacing Ryan in the seniors, we had no one of the same or similar calibre to replace him.

            I can't wait to see Josh Thewlis step up to the seniors, he's a tough little bugger. Very hard at it.

            And Scott McGlone is also everywhere, runs all day.

                I saw 3/4 of the Reserves and was very impressed with Heath James and Nick Potter. Both have a touch of class and Heath moved very freely while Nick Potter moves well and has a solid build. Potter looks more like a Lions mid fielder rather than a skinny rookie which we seem to have plenty.

                I agree that they badly miss Meiklejohn and the way things are with the injury to Ball he may be even handy in the Seniors.

                McVeigh took a great mark and goaled in the last quarter which eased some of my reservations about him. A leading official told me that McVeigh will be a champion . We shall see.

                      Wasn't there a Potter playing for the Swans in the 1980s?

                        not sure build wise. If he added a little bulk, maybe. But he's a handy shot on goal and also can run it out of the backline.

                          Craig Potter - 184 and 1987-90.
                          42 games and 16 goals.

                          Medium to small onballer is best description.

                          Bit slow but didn't lack courage. Early on he looked like he could develop into a top player, but plataued. Played 3 games for Brisbane in 1991.

                              Potter seems like a good player, good to see James is hitting form
                              - Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in a world they've been given, than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact, it's an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration, it's a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing!
