Lets' hope that Doyle has been doing a lot of cycling and swimming over the last few weeks!!!

        What about LRT's hamstring, anyone?

If Ball is no chance at all this year, can he go in the long-term injury list, and we promote Heath James onto the list.
Anyone know the cutoff for these types of things?

If Doyle comes back and gets a few games before the finals, then we wont be too badly off.

This is a real body blow. Not only does Ball provide good value at ruck contests, he can go forward and kick goals too. However, the biggest loss maybe that Goodes has to go into ruck for the majority of the game, and not have his usual freedom to run around.

Mate, that is the most disappointing news i have heard in a while. We now need to depend on doyle, LRT and meiklejohn. They better return soon. We cant have goodes in the ruck all day.
Using hypothesis testing via confidence intervals:
Nick Davis mark inside 50 = goal

I did notice that Stevens did alot of work up the ground. Maybe he could take part of Goodes role over, freeing Goodes up to ruck more and with Doyle to come back, things shouldn't have to change too much long term, maybe just this week.

Still its a big blow and it was the last thing Ball needed

Doyle is quite unproven in the ruck, or hasn't shown he can produce the standards shown by Ball this season. You must not underestimate the value of Ball this season, he would be near the top of the B&F polling. Let's hope that Roosy has a few tricks left up his sleeve.

Can't Ball just play with one arm for the rest of the season and have the op the week after the granny? He can even wear a sling, maybe, to support the shoulder!

This is really really disappointing. It would be bad enough if we had a couple of ruckmen in reserve but with the curse of the bigmen coming all at once the next week or two will be very tough. I have a feeling Goodsey will be bracing himself for an exhausting two months.

Well even though this is apparently a rebuilding year, the ruck hasnt been changed too much with goodes and ball.
It is really going to be a rebuilding year in the ruck now with LRT , Doyle and Miecklejohn getting serious game time in there when they come back. Even though I am confident they will not disgrace themselves in there, Ball is our No.1 and with him out, any aspirations for a flag this year imo have gone out the window. This really is sad.
The only bright news I can think of is Collingwood have a shocking ruck division and they seem to be travelling ok and still made a G/F with that ruck division last year.

I know not many swans supporters like him, but wouldn't it be nice to call on Ricky Mott right about now.
