Will we have to play the Melb. final 1st week?

We all know this is coming, the question is will it be allocated "fairly" or whether the AFL values us higher than the other interstate sides (this of course assuming the Wobbles don't make it top 2).

What do you think. For example ss has posted this scenario

Would Adelaide or us be made to play in Melb. the first week

No we won't, the AFL needs the exposure in Sydney above all

Only 6 v 7 would be "forced" to play in Melbourne, unless its Sydney.

So No, the AFL wont move a Sydney final. They'll "bank" if anything.

It would only happen in the 1st week if the Swans finished 6th and no Victorian team finished 1st, 2nd or 5th.
It's far more likely that the Swans will be shafted in the 2nd week or the prelim final. If the current ladder remained the same after round 22 and both Port and Sydney won their qualifying finals, the Swans would be dudded out of their rightful home prelim final.

Barry, forget about banking the final, because the AFL can't do it until they have a final in hand ie when the MCG next host 3 finals in the first 2 weeks of the finals. Anyway there is no way the AFL will do it for us and not the other interstate teams because that would cause a war.
