    Form Indicator

I always get nervous when judging form like this because individual teams match up against others differently, but has anyone read ANYTHING into these recent results?

West Coast literally flogged the Lions at the Gabba
West Coast came to Sydney and Lost
West Coast went to Adelaide and got flogged by Port
Sydney went to Adelaide and fought bravely against Port

I am as nervous as anyone about our chances over the next 5 games, where we will finish to maximise our finals chances, then our ability to be competitive in the finals, but the above results give me some heart.

    Thoughts?

An aside; Does anyone know if Maxy is carrying an injury still?

In the last quarter agains Freo Maxy requently visited the bench to have some work done on his calfs, so I would say he's not 100%.

I think maxy is pretty close to 100% fitness, however the thing I have noticed with maxy is that when he comes back from injury, he usually is very quiet for the first few games, then really hits his straps after that. Similair to when he came back this year, he was a slow starter, then was consistently in our best.

i thought he looked very slow, and pavlich's running goal was a direct consequence of maxy being tentitive to go into the pack...

I would suggest that after his layoff, and not having done a lot of work on the track, Maxfield was only suffering a bit of cramp.

Wow, penga, that's a bit severe!

Pavlich's goal was actually the direct result of a particularly weak turnover by Brett Kirk . . . . .

and of a bloody good kick by Pavlich!

I've noticed he was receiving treatment on his calves at times prior to his injury I agree it's just cramp

its true, maxy had free run at the ball and wouldve easily crashed polak and stopped him from marking it, i was yelling at maxy while the ball was in the air as he was standing flat footed at the back of the pack with a free run at the ball, instead he sat back, polak took the mark, who handpassed it to pavlich and maxy was too slow to run pavlich down... thats when i was yelling "that was your goal maxy!!!"

I thought Maxi was poor at the weekend and I was hoping he had a minor injury.

Not breaking away from packs, missing targets, not making the distance on the run from 50!!! (on his left)

Hopefully he will be back to inspirational next week.

One thing that surprised the hell out of me was when Maxy hit a slick handball at FULL PACE and within 5 steps he was run down by McManus.

I know Macca is quick but I also rated Stuey's pace so thought maybe the knee thing was a factor.
