    Skills

Remember how not all that long ago, e.g. last season, these pages were filled with bellyaching about our terrible skill levels? I've watched the 4th quarter of the Freo game (when we were switched on and following instructions) and it has just been awesome. Mind you, when we're switched off, The skills are there, better than ever in my few years of watching IMO. Now if we can be a little more consistent...
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

That was happening earlier this season as well, and we turned the corner when we played Melbourne. That's what we need now, we need to lift the tempo, especially now with the loss of Ball

IMHO our skill level has not increased much, rather it is, and always has been a matter of confidence. With the players knowing that they won't be dragged for a skill error, they are not as worried about making one, hence more confident, and it's showing in the way they play.

If you cannot compete for the premiership, it's better to be young and exciting than middle-aged and dowdy.

I agree confidence is a huge aspect of our skill improvement. You can still signs of the old skills when the guys lose confidence under a lot of pressure.
