    James PROMOTED

They just said on ten news that Heath James was promoted to the senior list in place of Ball. How good is that! Will he get a run soon?

Wow, they must be happy with his progress. The cut-off for promoting players is pretty close now so they had to make a move soon. That means he might not be called upon immediately, but they're obviously giving themselves an option later in the season. Makes sense really, because if we lose any more taller players for an extended period we'll be in big big trouble, and even a rusty James might come in handy.

Well done Heath, congrats on making it back. After some great outings with the reserves he can definately help the back line and he has been kicking a few goals as well. So how's the rucking capability?

Heathy, even if you don't get to play in the AFL again, getting this far has won you my eternal respect.

Being a fairly recent swans fan, ive never really known this guy since all the news about the end of his injury run. Can he ruck?

Good on him, he has been best on ground in every game he has played in bar one in ressys IIRC, so looks he is in not just for an extra tall, he earned it.

Swans have another secret weapon Yahoooo!!!

If there is any good to come from Bally's bad luck - this would have to be it!

Heath may you play 150 games without a miss. (collecting a few brownlow votes and a premiership or 3 along the way)

Not really, if desperate he could fill in like Stevens did on Sunday. Good luck to the champ on a safe return to footy

Is he likely to make the grade this year?

How has his form been in the reserves?

The quarter that I saw him 2 weeks ago he looked a little underdone?

                      Good luck anyway.

Congrats to Heathie - may you finally get a bit of luck that is bloody well long overdue.

177th Senior AFL Match - Round 4, 2009 - Sydney vs Carlton, SCG. This is obviously out of date. I suppose I'll update it once I could be bothered sitting down with the fixture and working it out....

Just a question regarding James' promotion:

Is the promotion of a rookie player, it just happens to be James, a mere formality that you do when a season-ending injury occurs?

Or is this a more significant appointment? I.e. does this mean Roosy is seriously considering giving him a game in the seniors in the lead up to the finals?

If so, where does he fit in? He's a medium sized defender. Who is he likely to replace?
