though almost certainly he will not play with the only changes happening going to these players.
    In:
    LRT
okeefe of MJ (depending on how much height roos wants but my guess would be for okeefe to come in)
    Out:
    Ball

It's an encouraging sign for him, and I for one am STOKED AS HELL that he was an inclusion. Agree with Thommo on the likely changes... The extended interchange:

James - Fairytale, but inclusion this week unlikely.
Meiklejohn - Definitely a possibility but would Roos want two ruck backups on the bench?
Nicks - Should get in, has the experience.
O?Keefe - Likely to return - is a good option around the ground.
Roberts-Thomson - Will be preferred to Meiklejohn because he has more games.
      Schneider - No discussion required.
Sundqvist - Unlucky. IMHO has a lot of talent, will need to force his way back in through results.

177th Senior AFL Match - Round 4, 2009 - Sydney vs Carlton, SCG. This is obviously out of date. I suppose I'll update it once I could be bothered sitting down with the fixture and working it out....

I believe James will play simply because Roos keeps on producing new"angles". He seems to just keep finding something different.

Here we have James coming in as a completely unknown to most clubs. He provides a freshen up to the mix and if his untapped potential he showed early on comes to the fore quickly, then who knows. How hungry must this bloke be.

If James plays I think I will be more nervous about him than about the result!!

Great stuff Heath, truly an inspiration to all AFL fans. I get the feeling he may play, there would be no point elevating him from the rookie list just to name him as an emergency.

My bench: James Schneider Nicks LRT
              Emergencies: Meiklejohn O'Keefe Sundqvist

James playing could just be the extra inspiration the Swans need to get over the line this week. They'll do it for Ball and they'll do it for James!

Against most other sides I'd think James would be likely to play, but Adelaide are very strong in the ruck (two players in the top-4 for hitouts IIRC), and I believe Roos has stated that LRT and Meiklejohn will be expected to share the load with Goodes. Fantastic story nonetheless, and I hope James gets the chance to prove he is worth of a spot on the list for next season.

me too. Even if he does play this week, I've no doubt he'll get a huge response in Sydney if Roos plays him the following week.

Although we don't know for sure if James will actually play, I was thinking that we could start a thread of comments in support for him and fax it to the club - I seem to remember this being done on RWO before last year for a couple of players...In Heath James case, he deserves all the congratulations he could get after what he's been through to get back on to the senior list.

Great story on Heath, sounds like he's an emergency for this week. Possible to see a two-pronged ruck duo in LRT/Meiklejohn?

Doubt they'll both play. But given each has an injury cloud over them they're probably waiting to see which comes through training better tomorrow.
