    honour the names

Time has really flown. It doesnt seem that long since the nominations for team of the century were announced and now its almost time for the team to be announced

As a relative newcomer I dont know much about even recent players like Barry Round much less oldtimers such as Cazaly and Clegg

I've just read an exerpt from Jim Mains book "Honour the Names" which was published in this weeks Inside Football . Article on Vic Belcher who was a member of 2 premiership sides in 1909 and 1918

Jim Main really makes long departed players come to life . First of all he tells a bit about the players early life then their playing and coaching career . Also about them as a person outside football.

Apparenlty Vic Belcher became a South fan and then player due to the influence of the baker who delivered their bread

Its just a shame that the book will ony be availalbe in limited edition form at $110 a pop I really enjoyed "The Fallen"
