    Leo Barry

How courageous is this guy? Ten stitches in his head in a patchup job, then in the last quarter he charges head first into Barry Hall and his opponent.

Some of the efforts of guys like Leo Barry, Cresser, and Maxfield getting crunched and coming back on stitched up, it must inspire their teammates.

Actually it highlights the fact that our guys should TALK MORE onfield! Most of the incidents have been through friendly fire - We're so tough that the only people who can beat our players up is our own players!!

177th Senior AFL Match - Round 4, 2009 - Sydney vs Carlton, SCG. This is obviously out of date. I suppose I'll update it once I could be bothered sitting down with the fixture and working it out....

i think he mustve had concussion in the second half as noone in their right mind would run with the flight of the ball knowing that bazza is coming the other way!!!

He is very courageous and determined! Apparently he ended up having 20 external stitches and also internal ones. They do need to talk more - I agree. Leo was running with the flight of the ball and would not have seen Barry Hall coming. Thought it was also a bit clumsy of Crouch to go into the pack with his knee anyway which collided with Leo's head. It happens though. At least they do not back off. Everyone for the ball!

There have been several who have constantly criticised Leo on this site, failing to understand the strategy behind his (and therefore Roos') style of play, and then many who just aren't sure.

This game may have finally proven beyond doubt to you how vital Leo is to our side.

When he started to break open the play with some of his runs we got back into the game. Pure and simple.

You may have noticed in the first half when there was no run off the half-backline we were hardly in the game. Maybe now some can look beyond the occasional high profile clanger and see the overall results.

That's not to mention the grunt and hard-at-the-ball approach that he brings to our side.

Another great game Leo - good on you.
"As a player he simply should not have been able to do the things he did. Leo was a 185cm, 88kg full-back and played on some of the biggest, fastest and best full-forwards of all time, and constantly beat them." Roos.
Leo Barry? you star! We'll miss ya, ''Leapin''.

Yep, I am just imagining Leo saying VERY QUICKLY.... "Hey Crouch, don't slam your knee into my head!!!"

            :lol

I have been a Leo knocker, but have acknowledged how well he's going. Keep it up Leo.
