    NRL parking clash

this saturday arvo there is an NRL game on at aussie stadium, ie:

    roosters vs sharks at 5:30pm

considering our game starts at 7:10, would this pose any great problems as theyll be leaving when we turn up... what would be the expected crowd for this nrl game anyway???

A big one, because Rooster are doing well and Sharks are on the re-bound (I think, after yesterday's win). Expect a traffic jam all around Moore Park.

As much as i hate it, i reckon it'll decrease our crowd numbers. Damn rugby league is a dumb game.

Nah, I don't think it would affect the crowd numbers that much. It'll mean that most of the crowd gets into the game around halftime though

I'll have to be at work earlier that day in north sydney anyway.. so I might get there early before the NRL game, wander over to fox and catch a movie! No parking hassles for me.

177th Senior AFL Match - Round 4, 2009 - Sydney vs Carlton, SCG. This is obviously out of date. I suppose I'll update it once I could be bothered sitting down with the fixture and working it out....

Will the league crowds even manage to fill out the members car park with their averages this year?
Theyll leave as we arrive and cause a massive jam as they cant limit streets or anything

Given the way the lads played on Sunday, expect 35000+ rabid ferocious, Red and White fans to scream and cheer their lungs out.

With the Team of the Century stuff happening as well and alot of nostalgia in the air, expect our most dominant and ruthless display of the year.

            Look out Hawks!!!!!!!

Sharks fans rarely travel outside the comforts of Toyota park! I don't think it will be too bad overall.

Another massive league crowd. Most likely their top this year, roughly 4,500

easy answer. Come out early and watch the ressies. Never any problems when you get there that early and you usually get a good match too.

I doubt the league game will get more than 12 thousand. 530 is an unpopular time. I'd expect close to 40k at the SCG - last game there this year. What a contrast that will be!

I have received the following email from the SCG Trust regarding public transport options for this Saturday?s game at the SCG. Special note should be taken of the track work planned on several City Rail lines on Saturday, those catching a train should check out the situation on their line and maybe adjust your traveling time accordingly.

Public transport is the way to go on Saturday!

It will be a busy and exciting Saturday at Moore Park, with up to 45,000 people expected to attend the games.

Parking at Moore Park is limited and fans are urged to leave their cars at home and take advantage of the public transport options.

                          Plan To Catch A Train

Catch a train to Central Station and then take a Sydney Buses Shuttle Bus directly to Moore Park. Shuttle buses depart frequently from Chalmers Street outside Central Station every few minutes from 3.00pm. After each game, shuttle buses return to Central Station.

Moore Park Link tickets are available from CityRail ticket offices, and include your return train travel to Central Station and return shuttle bus travel to Moore Park.

Several train lines will be affected by track work this weekend including Inner West, Bankstown, Southern, Southern Highlands and Cumberland lines.

Buses will replace trains in both directions between Bankstown and Glenfield, and Glenfield and Lidcombe via Regents Park. Trains will continue to operate between Lidcombe and Bankstown. Buses will also replace trains in both directions between Granville and Glenfield. Further details are available at www.cityrail.info/trackwork/index.jsp

                          Plan To Catch A Bus

Catch a shuttle bus directly to Moore Park from Chalmers Street at Central Station. Shuttle buses depart frequently from Chalmers Street outside Central Station every few minutes from 3.00pm. After each games, shuttle buses return to Central Station, with the last bus departing at 11.30pm.

Regular timetabled services are available from Circular Quay and go via Phillips Street and Elizabeth Street - routes 373, 374, 376, 377, 392, 396, 397 and 399.

                          Plan To Catch A Ferry

Catch a ferry to Circular Quay and catch one of the regular Sydney Buses services to Moore Park.

                          Plan To Park'N'Ride

Park'n'ride enables you to park and then catch a special event shuttle bus directly to Moore Park.

                          Park'n'ride for Swans patrons:

I would doubt they'll even get that!

I would say about 8000 max.

The rugby league will get a crowd of anywhere between 14,000 and 16,000 i'd say, but the bumper swans crowd should be the primary reason why you should avoid moore park car park like the plague!!

i drove to the western bulldogs game, and was stuck trying to get out of the carpark for AT LEAST an hour, and there were only 23,000 at that game.

PS: i tried on tuesday morning to book 2 tickets in the Brewongle Stand, but it had already sold out (only singles left). managed to squeeze into section 4 of the O'Reilly, so its gonna be a sizeable crowd! (and we are not competing with a live telecast of the ruggers this week)
