      The club are obviously confident that he's a decent chance of returning.

      Thewlis and Monty for Meiklejohn and Jamesy is a good bet at this stage, I think.

      177th Senior AFL Match - Round 4, 2009 - Sydney vs Carlton, SCG. This is obviously out of date. I suppose I'll update it once I could be bothered sitting down with the fixture and working it out....

            No, you misread it just like me!!

            Josh Thewlis is on the LTI list, James Meiklejohn is his replacement. Amon Buchanon is on the LTI list, his replacement is Heath James.

              As Meiklejohn replaced Doyle, it would seem as though the above should be either:

              a) Thewlis for Doyle (with Meiklejohn staying on)
              b) Doyle for Meiklejohn and then;
              Thewlis for Meiklejohn

              The bottom line being that Doyle, Meiklejohn and James are all eligible.

                Surely it would be of benefit to put Seymour on the long term list at this stage.

                I hope he gets back, but even if he was injury free at the moment, the chances of him getting fit and game ready for the finals is remote, let alone proving himself worthy of a place in the team......

                    Except that they don't need to. If they wanted to promote another rookie they just had to put Ball on the LTIL. The fact that they haven't indicates they don't feel another rookie will be able to force their way into the senior team. From reports of form in the ressies you'd think only McGlone might have been an outside chance but with Fixter still possibly to return and Ablett (and even Frosty) on the sidelines and all capable of playing in the midfield they obviously don't think its warranted.

                    On the other hand, if Seymour is fit and we lose Barry, Bolton (C) or Schaubs then he might be an option to bring in.
