Seymour booted 4 or 5, but it was a no match against Weston Creek....we won by over 100 points...Heath James looked in a bad way....he was crunched in a pack and was laid out on the ground for a minute or so....I do hope it was "just" a head clash, as he walked the boundary very groggily in the hands of the trainers...

"Davis...Davis has kicked 2...he snaps from 40...dont tell me, dont tell me, hes kicked a goal....unbelievable stuff from Nick Davis, can you believe this, he's kicked 3 final quarter goals and Swans are within 3 points..."
Scott Mcglone had another good game. Frosty came off injured @ half time. Daniel Hunt also had an ice pack strapped to his right (I think) leg around the knee region. Heath had a good game although he missed a few shots on goal. Could've bagged more than 5 except for his inaccuracy. He had a big graze to his left cheek after that knock and looked completely out of it as he walked past us back to the rooms.
There were a few other notable performances from players playing in numbers listed to other players so I can't advise who they were.
I agree though Weston Creek were not of the same calibre.

I guess only the coaching staff know if he's ready or not, but its hard to imagine James would give us any less than Stevens as a third or fourth forward, even if he only plays for short spells.
I'm also just about losing patience with Nicks' contribution - or lack thereof. However, he'll probably get one more chance, play his monthly good game, and get to keep his spot a little longer.
I'm not normally into singling out individual players - and after last night it would be a long list - but these two really are doing little week in week out to justify their spot in the team.
I'd love to see Ablett get another chance this season. You'd have to think that if he doesn't he'll struggle to stay on the list, and he's been consistently named in the best few for the ressies in recent games.
During the 2nd qtr of the reserves game, Roos sat up in the Brewongle stand by himself and watched the players very intently. He went back down stairs by half time.
I thought Seymour is ready to play back in firsts and James would be right in defence as well. The player depth is there to cover for a week or two.
In memory of my little Staffy - Dicey, 17.06.2005 to 1.12.2011- I'll miss you mate.

I too am concerned about Heath James. Hope he is okay - not his knees - good to read it was a head clash - I was really concerned about his legs. Anyone give us any information. I felt Seymour played well and maybe even Fixter? They seemed to give it their all - but great to see them out there playing.
I agree Rowan played well, but he also had a big case of the fumbles on quite a few occasions. We already have enough of that with the current senior team.
I'd like to see Brad Seymour play at least another game in the ressies before being promoted (problem is we don't have enough games left to get his fitness up). He, as was Benny Fixter, on and off the field regularly. It was good to see, he was really working at keeping his legs warm, track pants on immediately and continually walking or on the bike or having them rubbed down.
I'd also love to Scott McGlone get a run, but as Lizz pointed out on another thread, he's not eligable being on the rookie list. The more I see him, the more I like him. He reminds me of Maxfield a little with his run through the centre of the field. He's very tenatious and chases down everything he thinks he can get close to.
I think Heath is ready to come back, depending on his head after that knock, I'd bring him up for next week.

James' head slammed into the turf when he landed - that is what did the damage. It happened right in front of where I was sitting.
It's hard to take anything from the game though - the opposition just weren't competitive.
It's the first time I've seen the reserves this year, but the thing that really stood out was how much they were using handball for such a young side. I guess that is one of the main benefits of playing in the Canberra comp - controlling the style of play and who plays where.
He looks like he'll become a class player, but McVeigh scared the hell out of me on the weekend. You could mistake him for Nicks from a distance with his swagger, which is pretty frightening.
