    2 1st-half no-shows

I'm probably about to offend a lot of people right now, but I'm feeling very depressed at the moment, after last night's "performance".

After last night's inadequate performance, I believe all the praise the Swans received following the Adelaide game is totally unacceptable.

Sure in Adelaide the Swans got back into the game and almost won it. But 2 games in a row doing the same thing is just not on. I think last night's game shows that the Swans are not anywhere near being able to challenge the best. Almost always, whenever a team goes into half time with a decent lead, they relax, and let the opposition into the game. This is what happened in both of these games.

I think these games show that when the contest is there to be won, the Swans are way off the pace. Once the game is all but over, they stage some sort of a comeback. It wasn't good enough last week and it wasnt good enough this week.

All this is very distressing. A few of us noticed that the mishandling of the ball cost us badly last week, but were willing to overlook it as the team seemed to fight back strongly to almost win. It was this same fumbling, as well as shocking disposal and playing from behind (e.g. Leo against Rawlings, who took 3 marks inside the forward 50 in the 1st quarter), that cost us the game last night. These issues have slowly been creeping into the team's games over the last month or so. Bad, but short, periods during the Freo and Carlton games have now become bad quarters and bad halves of the games against Adelaide and Hawthorn.

Now for some more individual player bashing.

Saddington is woeful. At least he took some marks last night. But his disposal is disgraceful. I called for hime to play on the wing, and he did. He got the ball a few times, but my responses went from "Go Saddo" to "Oh no, Saddington, you are a goose"

If Roos is to pull through with his 3 year premiership plan, then guys like Stevens, Matthews and Nicks have to go, coz these types of players will never be good enough to win a premiership for this team, although I'd be more than happy for them to prove me wrong.

Kennelly has now been pinged almost once per game for the same holding the ball infringement where he lies on the ball and thumps the ground. What the...?

PLEASE give O'keefe more game time.
PLEASE teach Hall how to mark. And it wasnt just him. The whole team seemed to want to drop marks last night, including a sitter by Willo.

And finally, PLEASE Schneider get fitter, coz he was the only one out there in the first quarter who looked like doing anything.

I think I've offended enough people now. And since I've got that out of my system, I'll try and be more positive for the rest of the week.

I agree with you 100%. I was a little bit emotional after last weeks game but as the week went on I changed my mind.

We need to use Mathews and Stevens as trade bait and grab some KPP down back.

      Sharpie,

The 3 you named have one thing in common.

      SOFT.

And in the case of Nicks and to a lesser extent Mathews (too many head hits) - scared.

Agree 100% Iv had the thoughts for several weeks now, anyway, Saddo has been disappointing ever since his return, he doesnt play in front and his punching is embarrasing
There are no excuses, Tadhg knows not to flop on the ball and if he doesnt he should have asked why he is continually getting pinged and gotten help
ROK needs a lot more game time.
Nicks is only in there as a senior face
Matthews is a joke, him, stevens and fosdike are superb traidbait.

btw, what are the rules for the concession for NSW boys, cos N Potter is a very promising prospect and the Swans are extremely keen to grab him

Impossible is not a fact, it's an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration, it's a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing!

No concessions anymore. If they want him they'll have to fight for him in the main draft.

Well I must say I'm quite suprised that others feel the same. I thought I'd wake up this morning having been banned from this message board.

You haven't offended me at all.

But Stevens and Fosdike are worth absolutely nothing in trade. Both have shown things for us from time to time, though. We may as well keep them...unless Geelong want another seasoned midfielder. (but they will have learnt their lesson with Grgic and a few others).

Looking back I would hope that Roosey would take his own advice and not play injured players!!!!!!!!

Tell me that we wouldn't have better off with Sundquist and Ablett in for Willo and Maxi.

Sharp, I agree on Saturday night 4 sure....stewie and willo are definitely carrying injuries as is Leo...
I think my grandmother would have played better than either of them on Sat, and that's saying something because she's been dead for 15 years, god bles her!!!
I'd rather them have had the injuries "seen to" and rested and lost these 2 games...no make that 3 with next week...and got them "up" a bit more for the finals...where everyone can have a crack at it and recover in thre off season!!!
"Davis...Davis has kicked 2...he snaps from 40...dont tell me, dont tell me, hes kicked a goal....unbelievable stuff from Nick Davis, can you believe this, he's kicked 3 final quarter goals and Swans are within 3 points..."
