    To beat the Lions

We have to be competitive in the ruck and centre clearences.

We saw how they ripped the Maggies apart on Saturday with Fraser up forward and McKee (worst full-time ruck in the comp) in the middle.

Keating and Charman do a great job and Crackers is a tough match up when he goes forward. With the other talls up forward drawing the best defenders.

Lynchy and Brown have to be held tight. They won't be as much of a threat if we keep a tight check on Voss et al and can go forward more times than we did last week.

Brown was good last week, but then again I don't rate Cloke.

Also, if I was a betting man, I would put a tenner on Lipstick NOT being risked for what they would see as a shoe-in at home against the out-of-form Swans. They would want him fresh for the crunch games.

Does anybody else have any faith in us causing an upset this weekend?

You're right about Cloke mate he isn't that good. However i don't think we have a player that can do a better job. Lynch will be too good for Schauble as well so the game is going to be won in the midfield. If we get enough of the ball down to Hall and O'loughlin then we are some chance of winning. To me it just seems like we are a little out classed by Brisbane. Let hope Kirky can take Voss out of the game.

I don't think Lipstick will play this week. It was only 3 weeks ago that he did the injury so he surely won't play.

Yeah "LIPSTICK" as you call him is still at least 2 weeks away apparently.
We won't win this , but I hope we don't get flogged, so we can smash the wobbles the next week.
It would be hard for the boys to get up if we get a hiding. Anything under 27 points will be ok though.

Yep, We have a game plan that can beat them, as shown earlier in the year. Missing Leppitch is a huge loss, and Hall and O'Loughlan will do much better than Rocca and Tarrant against that undermaned defence.

Schauble could take Brown, and Saddo/James/Barry on Lynch.

Hang on, where have you been hiding for the last two weeks?

Saddington can NOT play on Lynch. If Carey kicked 5 against him, Lynch will at least double that. And after last weeks effort by Leo on Rawlings, he won't be much better.

The obvious choice is Schauble. He is our #1 defender while we lack a true FB, and so he definitely gets the job. And I reckon he'll do ok.

depends. Lynch is out of form IMO. And just going on last week, Brown is the form forward for Brisbane. Schauble has always struggled against Lynch, so trying him elsewhere is worth it.

Lynch is fairly stationary, so double teaming with Leaping leo jumping over the contest should work fine.
Now that I think of it, Bolton on Lynch could be a good option.

I reckon you have a point there. Jade is a tall man with Inspector Gadget arms and Leo could not get near them. Lynchy is at the stage in his career where a chest mark is much more comfortable, it may suit Leo.

                        B2 should take on Browny.

I don't think we can win this week.

The Lions are hitting form and our record at the Gabba is less then impressive.

We only have 1 win from 7 at the Gabba and that came when the Lions had hit rock bottom.

with the supposed inclusion of james and JM this week, we might see james/lrt/JM(i wish) floating around down back... schauble is too slow for brown, IMO... i think barry should take him, with schauble on lynch and cb/james/saddo/lrt/JM as a loose man to come in with the punch, if doyle is included as well, then we could really stretch their defence

                            therefore, IMO:

                            michael on hall
                            bradshaw on magic
i hope: crackers on doyle (at FF)

                            schauble on lynch
                            barry on brown
                            kirk on voss
                            crouch on aker
                            bolton on black

i think we will give it a fair crack, our 3 game losing streak at the beginning of the year was from freo, adelaide and hawthorn, this time round we beat freo so we r better off

Good on you Penga. Great match ups and great optimism!

I reckon we are a chance if we can keep Cressa and Willo fairly free to get our run moving nicely.
