Sean Hart and Lappin are supposed to be back for the Lions this week as well just to give Roosey an extra headache

If we want to have a chance of beating Brisbane, the following must happen IMO.

Schauble on Lynch, with Mr Softie (Saddo) coming over the top and effecting a spoil, or taking a mark.

Leo on Brown, with C.Bolton helping out and playing the 'sweeper' off half back.

Kennelly has to give us a lot of run out of the backline and hopefully push forward to kick a couple of goals, as he did against Adelaide.

Hall has to play at CHF. Micky deep in the forward line, with Schneider.

Roberts-Thompson and Meiklejohn rotating in the ruck, we can't fall for Goodsey again, just let him roam around and do his own thing.

Kirk has to negate Voss. Stewie, Cressa and J.Bolton have to really step up and win it in the midfield. Davis must create off half-forward and with a bit of luck, kick a few goals.

Hopefully James will play and give us another option accross half-forward or lend a hand down back.

3 changes need to be made at the selection table in my view.

      IN:
Meiklejohn - probably not ready, but we need him to compete in the ruck.

James - He deserves a spot in the side.

Sundqvist - His form in the 2's warrants a spot, and I think he can offer more than others.

      OUT:

Fosdike - Waste of time, when the pressure is on.
Mathews - C.Bolton can play his role without too much trouble, and I don't think he gives us anything anyway.
Stevens - Gives absolutely nothing to the side, for mine.

Give Fixter and Seymour one more week in the 2's.

      We can win, for sure.

        good run down

however, reading roosy's "hints" again, i think he might be pointing to doyle

        id drop nicks before fosdike...

        but if it was:

        in:
        doyle
        jm
        james

        out:
        stevens
        nicks
        fosdike

i wouldnt be complaining... three changes is pretty out there for roosy's form though IMO

Brown and the goal kicking midfield are the real danger. Having said that Lynch can always chip in with 2 or 3. Man on man pressure and getting hands on the ball are the keys.

the defence will struggle. Saddington is lucky to be in the team let alone be expected to beat Lynch. He is a truly awful defender in my opinion. MOL looks a bit unfit, Hall is a danger but no more so than Rocca and Tarrant who are pretty good players so they will have their work cut out.. The key will be the midfield but this is the Lion's biggest strength. We have no stars there, they are full of them. Hard to see a win on the board.

I thought Doyle might be the 'surprise inclusion' because it hinted that he might be back in the SMH on Monday, but if Roosy's planning to play Meiklejohn then I doubt he'd play them both....too tall perhaps? my feeling is that James is the surprise inclusion

              Who else could it be?

              Jason Ball! (I wish)
Paul Kelly in a shock comeback! (not likely)

              I know....it must be...

IMO the Lions' attack is too strong for our defence physically and we will get out pointed more times than not if the ball comes down there often.

We can win the game - obviously, we've already beaten them once this season - but it will have to be won in the midfield. Put simply, we need to get the ball into our forward line more often than we allow them to get the ball into theirs.

Lizz, this has been our problem all year, but we have managed very well for the majority.

I'm just curious to know how we beat them earlier this year. I was overseas and so still havent seen the game. I was shattered that I missed it. Lets just hope I'll see a repeat this Sunday!

To be more positive as some people requested here I would say it is possible if the Swans of the first half of the season come to play. But rememeber this, Lions will come to play not only to beat the Swans but for the top 4 position (even top 2) and they might prove to be more determined on this occasion.

The two critical ingredients to this equation are Leppitch, and the gabba.

Going on the last couple of years, one man has made the difference between the two teams, and that is Leppa. With him out we are a huge chance.

But, the gabba is a very hard place to win, and we will have to play 100% to be a chance.

We'll go in as outsiders, but we are a chance.

                        I agree barry.

When I heard of his injury and estimated time out of the team I sat there counting how many weeks it was until we played them, and a small smile crept across my face. He has hurt us so badly in the past with his run forward, not mention his work as a defender.
