    Lockett - Coventry Cup

Apparently when we play Collingwood in Round 21, we are playing for this cup.

Have we done this for a while? Did anyone know about this? Its news to me! Good idea none the less!

It's whenever we play Collingwood in Sydney. Lost it but 4 points last time if memory deserves me correctly. Schwatta was denied a goal on the line.

I was at that game, and I was level to goals in the crowd (general admission section). That was most certainly a goal

What is with us a dodgy goal umpire decisions?
That one is where the boundary umpire decided it was a point after they three umpires (goal, field and boundary) had a conference.

I was in the reserved seats next to the cheer squad. Looked like a goal to me too ;-)

didnt the goal umpire signal that it hit the post? where it missed the post by about a metre!

Was this dodgy goal decision game in 2001? I am struggling to remember it.

Also, has anyone else noticed the increasing number of cups that teams are playing for these days? It probably was a great money spinner at first, with both clubs saying "Look everybody, we are playing to win the CUP, come down to the game and support us and give us more money" but now it is just getting ridiculous with teams like Collingwood playing for a different cup every week! It's that bloody Eddie Maguire again...I hate that dude!

2000, I think. IIRC it was a saturday night game @ the SCG. Anthony Rocca kicked the winning goal.

And now let's never speak of it again.

177th Senior AFL Match - Round 4, 2009 - Sydney vs Carlton, SCG. This is obviously out of date. I suppose I'll update it once I could be bothered sitting down with the fixture and working it out....

The Lockett-Coventry cup, the Ron Barassi Cup, the Marn Grook Cup... I don't want any of them. I just want the Premiership Cup.

What's next? The Stefan Carey Cup between Sydney and Brisbane? The Richard Colless Trophy for Swans-West Coast matches? How about the Simon Minton-Connell Perpetual Shield for games between Sydney and Carlton, Sydney and Hawthorn, Sydney and the Bulldogs, Carlton and Hawthorn, Carlton and the Bulldogs and Hawthorn and the Bulldogs? It might be a little difficult to keep track of who's actually got it, but hey, no one will give a rat's anyway!

On Foxtel Leauge Teams, they suggested that this week Brisbane and Sydney will be playing for the Stefan Carey Hairpiece.
Another suggestion was the Warwick Kapper Craper.

How about the Clinton King Cup or Robbie Ahmat Cup for example?

The number of different possible trophies that the Swans and Collingwood could play for is ridiculous. How about the Stuart Mangin Mantlepiece
