    Leigh Matthews comments

    From Realfooty.theage.com.au:

"But Brisbane coach Leigh Matthews was begrudging in his assessment of the Swans, calling them a "useful team" and saying his side would have won but for inaccurate kicking."

So that means your team of "stars" was beaten by just a "useful team". Doesn't say much for them then does it?!

Does not the fact that we out did you with accuracy not make us better? What a @@@@ing bad loser.

He and Aker deserve each other.

By the way we'll pretty bloody useful if we make the GF wont we!

      Talk about soft frees!

They took those grabs from the press confidence to fire us up but I have since found other parts where Leigh is pretty lavish in his praise. He wasn't going to blow too much smoke up our rectums but he did praise our running game and our conversion rate.

I am just amazed that they can seemingly win in the stats all day and still lose and look like they should lose too.

I did notice things like Simon Black's tackles, something like 10 tackles and Lappin had 6, while Kirky and Crouchy (taggers) only made 5 each.

This tells me that their Fab 4 is now only a Fab 1 and a half. These guys were too slow to the ball and unwilling to put their nose over it all day waiting for us so they would lay the easy tackle.

One thing I will say about their plays for frees, I was so pumped up when Lynchy got hammered for that tackle on Crouchy which meant a 50. So often Lynchy wrestles with a backman until the ball is close then he just collapses like a cripple and almost always gets the free, kicks a goal. Some revenge with that penalty and then for him to have a career low 2 touches, SWEEEEET!

I thought the holding the ball decision against Schauble was among the worst ever.

Absolutely no prior opportunity at all. Very poor.

Mind you, Scott McLaren made the worst deliberate OOB call against a Carlton player (Livingston, I think) on Saturday against StKilda. Coming out of defence, the ball is about to be smothered and he has no choice but to kick it wide and gained about 30 metres. McLaren pings him. Idiot.

He didn't DRAG it in. He just simply took possesion of the ball and was tackled almost immediately.

Please explain what he was supposed to do if he shouldn't have taken possesion of the ball, or DRAGGED it in as you seem to have deemed it??

pick it up on the run rather than falling over on top of it...

I think you'll find he slipped over, a common problem yesterday.

I think Lethal at least acknowledged where footy games are won and lost - the scoreboard.

Well if your perception of the incident is clouded by you seemingly having some problem with Schauble, then there is not much more to say other than we disagree.
