    Ryan O'Keefe

He is out of contract this year isn't he?
I really hope he stays, very talented footballer.
We would lose a lot by losing O'Keefe

he is out of contract and I agree whole heartedly with you TheMase.

Frosty_13 posted about a month ago that mutual friends of theirs said he wouldn't say no to moving back south to be closer to his family (sob). Breaks my heart to think of it.

He can go back if he wants - he's not essential to the side. But he's a very talented player who we want to hang on to. So Vic clubs should be aware that he has a price tag.

I think he plays well (when he gets game time) once he gets a bit of confidence. As soon as he's kicked that first goal, I think he's fantastic to watch. But if he isn't have a lot of the ball, I don't always see him making an effort to involve himself in the game.

Roosey said some players will be disappointed come end of year as they're looking at dropping 4 players. Is O'Keefe likely to be one of those? Who else do you think?

he'll only go if he wants to IMO. I think they'd keep him otherwise.

And I think if you watch his play off the ball you'll notice he does try to work himself into the game. I think he misjudges some of the contests and arrives a little late, which will improve with experience.

And yes his running kick is beautiful to watch, that was the first thing I noticed about him.

He's essential, don't worry about that. I'd be shattered if he left, he seems to be enjoying his footy, and we're a good side at the moment, so I'd be suprised if he left.

I get the impression he's very much a confidence player, almost as if he's still trying to convince himself that he belongs out there on the AFL stage. Definitely when he gets himself involved earlyish in a game he tends to get more assertive.

I find this a bit strange because when he first arrived he seemed almost over-confident, especially in his early reserves games. Maybe that was false bravaura and what we see now is, in a paradoxical way, a sign of him maturing.

I noticed that too Lizz and thought hmmmm, I don't know about this guy. But now he's most definitely my favourite player (as if you all haven't guessed that by now) I guess going through what he has, has matured him quicker and we now see that through the way he carries himself.

I just hope with his recent form he is happier and stays with us. We do not want to lose him, he's a tough nut with a beaut kick and does run and run when on the field.

I think O'Keefe is a really underated player and probably one of the deadliest kick for goals in the club who can also take a good mark. He certainly adds to the side and we should resign him.

I'd love to see him play out of the square as well.

I also remember in his 1st or 2nd year at the club, that he played at FF, for Port Melbourne and kicked a lot of goals.

                      The bloke is a gun.

You've got to drop at least 3 and Heath will be promoted, which makes 4

                        The nominations are:
                        Frosty McPherson
                        Brad Seymour
                        Daniel Hunt
                        Amon Buchanan
                        Staying ahead of the game...

nicks (hopefully someone would be interested in a trade)

Daniel Hunt? There is no way he is going anywhere. Tall key position player. Was drafted as a 17 year old, which means he is only 19 this year. He will be given at least one more year one would think.

                            Why would you delist him?

If Seymour is out of contract then he might just get unlucky...I'd probably keeop him ahead of Nicks and warfe, but we can't delist Warfe or Nicks if they still have a year to run - that would be really silly....but they might take a pay cut in return for staying on the list.

The problem is that of the uncontracted players the only one who's time has really come is Frosty...all the others would have to be considered unlucky.
