hehehe last night at the game as i was heading back to the CS a Collingwood supporter was in my path..we both came face to face and I told him to get out of my way b/c this was a home game and I had right of way.
He didnt move so i then told him to move out of the way and respect me b/c "My taxes paid for his trip up"
I was of the opinion that you were getting the better of the umpires (esp holding the ball)
Mate, if I'm not mistaken Sydney had about 10 more free kicks than Collingwood and scored goals from a couple of them. The holding of the ball wasn't payed for either team.
Although the free kick favour was in our count, I don't think you could really argue that they weren't there. I think they were fairly consistent in their interpretations of push in the back and head highs all night.
The only goal from a free kick I can remember, and you can correct me if I'm incorrect, was the 50m penalty given to Willo after Brodie Holland dropped his knees into his back, and I think you will be hard pressed to argue that one.

One team getting more free kicks doesn't mean the umps got the better of it necessarily if they were justified.
It is the first time this season I thought we got a decent run from the umpires and a couple of the ones we got were a little soft but there wasn't anything I saw that was blatantly wrong in either direction.
Out of interest (and recognising that when you think you're team has been umpired fairly it often means you did get a good run, given most of us are one-eyed), were there any Sydney frees you thought were wrong, or Pies' ones that were missed?
The free against Buckley for in the back late in the game when he absolutely blew up was definitely soft. but that's one of the few times this season I've been able to say we've been given a soft free.
I'm on the Chandwagon!!!
If you cannot compete for the premiership, it's better to be young and exciting than middle-aged and dowdy.
Not one holding the ball decision all night, so its not as if we were getting paid them and you weren't. As for the timeclock, I think you're pushing it a bit far if you think the timekeepers are trying to influence the result of the game in our favour.

Noticed a few Collingwood "throws" and drops myself too. Umpires seemed pretty consistent.
Only one I thought was a bit dodgy was when we got a deliberate out of bounds right near the end of the game when a Pies player just walked over the boundary line with the ball. Sure, it was deliberate but never ever before have I seen that paid as deliberate OOB. But the game was well and truly over by then so it was hardly consequential in the overall scheme of things.
Apparently, the clock stopped at several stages during passages of play for approximately two minutes in total (in the last qtr). The last qtr ended up going about 33-34 minutes.
sorry diego but that sort of support we dont need.hanging @@@@ on someone because of what they do or dont do for a living is bloody snobbery and is the lowest form of wit ,id take the guys on the dole as supporters ten times quicker than a latte sipping snob .theres plenty of working class swans around
