Okay I thought I'd start this thread where we can post our thoughts on the match and not have snickering from Pies supporters

I just got home from it.

Even though we had more frees than Collingwood quite a few came out of bounds on the full. While some decisions in general just had some fans baffled, I think the umpires forgot what the meaning of holding the ball was tonight.

A major positive tonight was Kirk's job on Buckley showing that their last clash wasn't a fluke there.

I thought Williams and O'Keefe tried their hearts out, even though they were on the losing side.

I think one of the journalists summed it up perfectly when they said we did too many short kicks, handballs and therefore fumbled possession to the other side due to the pressure they put on us.

Hopefully the Swans can put a far better performance in against the Demons next week and hope for a miracle tomorrow that the Demons beat the Weagles.

At this stage if the Swans lose they'll finish in 7th or 8th. If the results go their way and they win the final match they could sneak back into the top 4, but for this to happen they'd need a massive win against Demons and Port to absolutely thump Adelaide, Freo to beat Weagles, a very close encounter with Dons beating Pies and for Brisbane to lose against Bulldogs.

True and it was the phrase I forgot to actually include in the post

They played crap, deserved to lose and if they play like that again especially in the finals they won't go very far.

Hey at least we broke the crowd record for the year even including Vic

I hope that we break that record next year, with every single seat available actually occupied. That way... no more records. We've lost our last three games with record attendances. They're nasty.

Yeah let's hope our losing streak with RAs are over and that our players can finally figure out how to play in front of record crowds instead of looking like deers in headlights *sigh*

U werent up to the task....the more disciplined, hard at it outfit took precedence...

We were too good.....admit it.....

I attended the match and I come from Melbourne. I couldn't over how many Grandmothers and fairweather theatre going supporters where in the crowd.

Sydney sportsfans are just about the worst going around

That' funny the only fagpies supporters near us were about 70yrs old.

Funny thing is, they probably had more teeth than you!

quick question to anyone who watched the game at home.

Regardless of the result, out of the swans, which ones were the highest on the player rankings throughout the night on the coverage?

Pretty simple really. Collingwood did the basic things right, and did some remarkable stuff in the wet, some very very good goals in there. We seemed to overuse the ball, even if the conditions were hypothetically bone-dry!

Simple things to note:

1) Don't handball to someone in a worse position.

2) If you have to handball it, would it KILL you to pass it on the full so that your man doesn't have to waste precious seconds scooping it up?

3) If your teammate was so good as to deliver the ball properly to you, you could consider making every effort to catch it properly so that you can actually use it.

Our accuracy was alright, but no one really ended up in a position to have shots! We really can't afford too many players having an off night. I reckon easily half the team played a 90% game and that really cost us in terms of turnovers, momentum, wasted opportunities...
