Did anyone think we handballed too much tonight?

Yep we handpassed and handpassed, but what else could we do with the pressure we were put under. The weather just didn't help us. Collingwood have the expireance of the wet, we didn't. They made changes to the team to suit the wet, we didn't and in effect had 2 useless players in the team in MJ and LRT. Nothing against them, they just weren't suited to the wet and we would of been better suited to having say a Seymour, Warfe or Fixter who get in and under better.

Though I suppose our depth didn't help us make changes. Still we got beaten by the better side and its something we have to learn from for the finals. Next week takes on massive terms because if we win Top 4 could still be on if results go our way, but in any case 5th or 6th Spot would be wrapped up and a home final coming our way
    Once was, now elsewhere

Way too many handpasses. We should have kicked long and locked it in the forward 50. It was dumb footy tonight. I think the Swans bombed at least 3 goals because we over-used the footy.

I would also question the intelligence/ability of at least 6 Swans based on tonight's performance.

Sure it was wet but the Magpies handled it Ok and it was at least half a game before most of the Swans got into into the match.

I exclude Adam Goodes from all criticism. I thought he was sensational tonight, as was Brett Kirk.

A very disappointing showing... let's not gloss over the performance.

Again our "comeback' happened when the game was effectively over.

Top 4 will be very difficult now - get ready for a sudden death match against Essendon or West Coast in the 1st week of the finals.

Yes it was very dumb football, you don't overhandball in any conditions let alone in the wet.. I think our skill level is down and they showed us up in that area as well as possessing more class players than us. We battle hard but overall lack class.

Last night, yes it was. But we all know they can play better footy this year and their skills have shown a marked improvement over the past couple of years. And the guys have shown more class than probably even we thought they had.

I know everyone's bitterly disappointed with the game, but let's not write-off what they have done this year. Especially not yet. We're in the finals. Win next week and we'll get a home final. They bounced back well from previous losses.

          The season ain't over yet.

yes our handballing was appalling - I think you can probably count on one hand the number of handballs that hit the target on the full - I think the disappointment was their not being able to compensate for this as the game went on.

One thing I will take away from the game is that we aren't that far behind the "big guns" as far as skill and talent and we are playing a lot of young guys - we have beaten Brisbane twice, Collingwood once - and lets face it Collingwood should have absolutley smashed us last night but didn't finish with more than the first quarter margin - thats something.

We played dry weather footy in wet conditions.

The pies are good in the wet and I knew this was going to be tough.

Exactly . If after last night, and after winning 8 of their last 9 games - Collingwood's one of the best , Sydney certainly aren't going that bad .

I note that N.Fosdike only had 3 clangers, yet I reckon he had 4 in the first 10 minutes. His disposal selection was appalling, but I did note that he hit a player on the chest once, which is probably the first time this month.

When players skills are poor they only get worse when the rain comes.

Scratch these players when it gets wet.

B.Hall, A.Schauble, N.Davis (was he on the ground longer than it took him to kick that goal) C.Bolton (had oil smeared on his hands) N.Fosdike, L.Barry (falls over at the sight of water, looked like he was ice skating all night).
