    Mathews

At times this year he has made a reasonable fist of it. runs pretty hard. Doesn't shirk a contest.

But....you would be thrilled as an oppostion coach if he was getting over 20 possessions wouldn't you?

That was possibly the worse 20 possession game of football ever played in the history of the game.

Andrew Bomford would have been proud.

Honestly, is there any point in continuing? His errors and poor disposal so far outweigh his experience and size.

3, but I don't need to be at a ground to see him drop the ball or handpass it not to his team mate's advantage. That's exactly my point. I don't care how hard he runs off the ball (off the screen) it can't possibly make up for it.

Have you forgatten the Hawthorn game early in the season where he also got lots of the ball and gave ahuge chunk of it straight back?

Then there were a handfull where he didn't do much and a handfull where he held his own as a reasonable AFL player. But it's gone far enough for me, I'm afraid.

Mathews was awful. At least two errors from Ben led immediately to Collingwood goals

I think what irks most supporters is that he is relatively slow in disposing of the ball. I think there was an incident on Saturday when he took ages trying to dispose of the ball in our own defensive 50, was mown down by a Pie, but luckily he was adjudged to have been pushed in the back. He's usually a pretty good kick when he does get rid of it, so maybe there's some tradeoff involved.

I agree Ugg. I pose the question is his delay in moving play on due to the lack of players presnenting themselves for him to give off a good disposal?

Yes a turn over up field is far better than a turn over closer to goal. I don't think it made that much of a difference Saturday where the turn over was, most cases resulted in us trying to stop another Collingwood goal.

I have been one of his biggest fans but to things really stood out to me
1 he struggled to stay on his feet
2 at least twice he missed a target by hand when they were less than 3 metres away from him.

he knows how to get it but his decision making needs work.
