    Cressa's farewell

I do most sincerely hope that the lack of any tribute by the club or the crowd, lap of honour, motorcade, etc for the great man after the wobbles' debacle means that his holiness will be postponing his golfing sojurn to sunny queensland for at least another year...
"Davis...Davis has kicked 2...he snaps from 40...dont tell me, dont tell me, hes kicked a goal....unbelievable stuff from Nick Davis, can you believe this, he's kicked 3 final quarter goals and Swans are within 3 points..."

It was reported in the sunday papers this week that he has bought a block of land in sydney having sold his house a month or so ago. The interpretation taken was that he was planning to stay, having originally planned to move north (hence the house sale). I have no idea if this is correct, just reporting the speculation that I read on sunday. There has been no statement from either Cressa nor the Club.
    Dream, believe, achieve!

        Cresswell laments slow start

Sydney?s Daryn Cresswell believes a slow start contributed to the Swans? 18-point loss to Collingwood at Telstra Stadium on Saturday night ? with the Pies kicking the opening four goals.

However, the retiring midfielder did not feel it was stage fright playing in front of the largest crowd outside of Victoria - 72,393 ? and the biggest so far this season.

?We didn?t start well and they probably took the crowd out of the equation a bit,? Cresswell said.

?(But we) didn?t adapt to the (wet) conditions, didn?t go in hard for the football, didn?t have numbers around the footy and they did and they beat us in that area.

?They killed us at the stoppages and we just have to get better at it.

?It hurts me more when we lose being an old type player not knowing if I am going to play next year again, (but losing) makes me want to retire.?

Sydney managed to narrow the margin to 11 points in the final term before the Magpies again kicked away to hand the sixth-placed home side their third loss in the past four weeks.

?We will take the good fight-back into next week (against Melbourne) and hopefully we can get a good start and put scoreboard pressure on them.?

The 32-year-old now hopes Sydney can beat the Demons on Saturday and the other results fall their way to grab a top four position, and the double chance.

?I just want to win next week, go in hard, you don?t get the opportunity to play in finals that often.

?We missed out last year and we haven?t lasted too long in the finals we have been in so next week?s a big game for us and we have to win that.

?I am very excited about playing finals footy. Eight teams out of the 16 only get that opportunity and it?s going to be good and I am looking forward to it.?
Here's my heart and you can break it
I need some release, release, release
        We need
        Love and peace

Emailed the club re cressa and retiring after I read the above article from Karen Collins.
Awaiting a reply - because I too think we should of had the opportunity of saying bye if he is going.
Happy though if he stays for one more year.
My last reading on his retirement was his wife wants him to play on.

We can't rely on home finals to say goodbye - so maybe he is waiting to see what happens as the finals go on.
          Love those Swans

Funny how this tassy guy was under pressure of being dropped in his first few years with the swans. This pressure was due to his weight and fitness.

After a hard summer of toning himself up, he has been developed to be one of the greatest swans ever. What a legend.
Using hypothesis testing via confidence intervals:
Nick Davis mark inside 50 = goal
