Nominations for silliest quotes of the year.

      Snowy on Nick Davis :
"Generally is a poor kick though."

      JF on Barry Hall :
"He infuriates me for his lack of second efforts"

How many kickouts went straight to Magpies the other night? The Collingwood supporters always set he lacked guts and I was annoyed with how rattled he looked the other night.

You've changed what you originally said . You said Nick was generally a poor kick , and that's pure crap . If you knew anything about Collingwood supporters, you'd know that they've never ever questioned his kicking ability . You'd also know that before he mentioned coming home to Sydney, they thought he was a magician . They really only started finding flaws in his game, after it appeared that he would be leaving Pie Land .If you were watching that closely on Saturday night, you might have noticed that he was lame on various occasions . You might have also noticed that there was a much faster man playing on him . You might have also noticed that it was wet, and plenty of people were having trouble with ball control, apart from him .

If that goal was a fluke, then he must be the luckiest footballer in the history of the game, because he does it time and time again .
Sit down or i swear to God i'll have you shot.

I wonder though if he was lame to excuse a rather limp wristed match. No wonder Roos benched him. He should not be picked for matches against Collingwood if it makes him play that incredibly badly. Maybe being dropped this week would have been a good reality check for him. We gave up our precious second pick for him so people expect a lot more than what he is delivered so far. Maybe the player we got with that would be a lot better. Roos must have been embarrassed about his performance and I notice that he told his son that he won't be fed this week if we lose. He is starting to lose patience with people like Davis who just don't give 100%. Trade bait? Perhaps but I doubt he would generate much interest.

Davis didn't play particularly well at the weekend, granted. But then few Sydney players had good games. But he's been playing some good, solid football for us this season. Not a fantastic season, by any means, but certainly a solid contributor in more games than not. And he's been generally getting better each week.

We haven't seen the best from Davis by a long shot. I was moderately lukewarm about him joining and didn't expect much this year given he had absolutely no pre-season. But having now had the opportunity to see more of him I'm glad we got him. His class is obvious, and his work-rate and tackling have been better than I expected. He was definitely worth the second round pick we gave up for him.

you make some fair points Lizz but players are ultimately judged by the big matches. I don't doubt he may have some talent but Davis failed the biggest test the other night. He looked scared, uninterested and impotent. He proved he will let us down in the big matches. Nick Stevens and Nathan Brown will be on the market swap our first pick plus Davis and a second tier player for one of them and it will improve our squad immeasurably for mine. The Collingwood fans say they wouldn't take him for nothing now such is the way he played the other night, they believe he just hasn't got the passion or the team bonding of the average AFL player. We may have been sold a pup by Malthouse. We must retrieve the situation now by recouping what we can. I think the deal suggested above could be a big winner for us.

No he didn't. He had one ordinary match in a (home and away) game in sopping wet conditions that probably didn't really suit his style against his old team - and some players initially do struggle against their old teams.

You probably come back and say he had a poor GF last year as well. True, but he was undoubtedly injured, and had played very well in some of the earlier Pies finals games that series.

How about waiting another few years before determining what Davis' record in big games is.

What a ridiculous thing to say. IMO Davo has been good and he is getting better all the time.

He was great in Adelaide and Brisbane, you would have to be blind not to have seen that.

Nick isn't going anywhere so there's no point talking about him being trade bait.

My stomach is churning just reading this thread. You people make me sick. One bad game and you're writing him off on the back of what you've heard from Collingwood supporters. When was the last time a Collingwood supporter said something even remotely true and honest?

So you probably believe Willo should be the one serving the 2 match suspension then instead of Holland, after all, he DID provoke Brodie?!. Oh yeah, and Adam Goodes and Jude Bolton are still hacks coz they played a bad game last year. Not to mention Leo Barry for missing that spoil in the last quarter against Brisbane after he had his arm bandaged. Who said Cressa should be in the TOTC? He's got such a @@@@ kick. And as for that fool Paul Kelly. What a d**khead. I've never seen someone so self-centered in my life. How dare he waste all those years filling a spot on the team list. We should have got rid of him and kept Mark Kinnear when we had the chance.

Now I must go back to Eddie and **** his ****...
