This will be an interesting game....
I think we should win this one comfortably, given the stakes, but with the Swannies, you never know....
Also, I think the Dees may lose a priority pick in the draft if they win this game, not that that should make it any easier for us...
"Davis...Davis has kicked 2...he snaps from 40...dont tell me, dont tell me, hes kicked a goal....unbelievable stuff from Nick Davis, can you believe this, he's kicked 3 final quarter goals and Swans are within 3 points..."

They'll play Doyle off the bench anyway, because it's going to rain on Saturday. I hope this time Rossy will take weather conditions into his game play scenario as well.

heath james dropped as precaution? i certainly hope so, nothing too serious... i spose horses for courses as well, with the lack of dee KPP i doubt we'll need him

good to see doyle and snapper back in

beginning of the season was to give the young fellas a run, now its time to see if some old timers have still got it...

I am very pleased to see both Doyle and Seymour included in the side. Doyle for his height and marking power and Seymour for his hardness and persistence , particularly , with the finals next up.

I do have a slight reservation about Doyle as he looked a little proppy and he seems to be carrying a little excess in conditio. I guess his inclusion is a gamble but if it comes off the team will really benefit greatly . .

Seymour Why? Powell for me, the theme that has got us here has been youth change NOW why?.

Seymour is not part of the future and his skills have always been suspect under pressure so they introduce him come finals time! don't get me wrong he has given the club some good years and has been a very good stop but now its time to let him go.

I am hoping this is a final farewell for such good service to the club.

Does this mean it's the end for Ablett? Close to the best every week in the ressies and no reward?

Or is he being groomed for next year?
We have them where we want them, everything is going according to plan!

I doubt we'll see Ablett next year. He just hasn't impressed when he has got a senior call up and those who remember he last played in Round 4 against Hawthorn and had a shocker.

On Heath James, I agree with him being dropped, because I still think he is lacking match fitness and needs a full pre season behind him to get close to his best again. He has done enough to earn himself a spot back on the senior list for next year, but with Doyle and now Seymour back, I doubt we'll see him again in the seniors unless we get hit big time with injuries.

I rather Seymour to Powell down back come the finals, because he has the expirence and at least he'll be used solely down back I hope.

I agree that Powell is the future of the club but reading some threads earlier in the week it seems that Powell is carrying a few injuries at present ie he has 2 injections in his feet before a match and there was another problem mentioned which I can not remember.
IMO Seymor's experiece will be be invaluable in the finals and his presence will keep the opposition on their guard.

Snapper - welcome back. I'm in shock... I figure he was gone - to have been behind James... but obviously that has changed!

Good luck Snapper... prove me wrong.

Wow - for all the fuss about Doyle, I didn't hear a thing about Seymour coming back. He played a bit of a running half back flank role last season IIRC, so hopefully he can take a bit of pressure off Barry.

Robbie,Why do you have it in for Ablett ?? If I remember correctly, this is about the 3rd time you have expressed negative opinions about him within the last 2 weeks.
All I have to say is that Ablett is still very young , yes he has not yet shown enough in the seniors, but his performances have been so consistantly good in the reserves in the reserves that if we let him go next year there is a very real possability that he will be playing as a stand out midfeilder againts us in 2004 !!
I mean sure if we have better options, but that goes for any player ! I think the club would be foolish not to give him one more season. He looks to me to be the classic late bloomer.
                          Time will tell !

It's fantastic that both Doyle and Seymour are back! If Powell needed injections in his foot, then its not surprising that he's not playing. Good luck to both of them for tomorrow.
