    Swans vs Demons (Spoilers)

Is it just me or will anyone else be happy if we could actually scrape home to win this one?

We aren't playing well at all, Melbourne's running all over us at the moment.

I think we are trying to break the record for handballs per qauter.
hopefully we get over the line today and this kick starts us for the finals.

Typical for important games, this is not the form of a premeirship team , we still have a long ways to go.

I have to agree Footy Head if we can't play well at the M.C.G can't see us going to far in September.

They are playing Ok in the third..

          Micky just kicked another one..

And Seymour seems to be giving us something in the backline...

I do think a lot of the players are not match fit..Doyle, Seymour naturally....and I really doubt that Micky is 100 percent..

They are doing OK...must be feeling a bit flat after last week too..Let's hope we can win..and that it will give us something to look forward to next week

Seemed to have turned things around so far in the the third quarter a sign of a good team is when they can win without playing well, so lets hope they can get the 4 points then the finals are a whole new ball game.
I imagine conditions are not the best for high scoring free flowing football there.

Maybe next week the Swans can play two second halves instead of a first and second half.

We had some good moments - it was like the last time we played them on Anzac Day we didn't play well in the first half then in the second half we exploded - exactly the same thing today.

Schneiderman and Davis' goals in the last quarters have got to be contenders for goal of the round.

I'm just going to come out and say this now because I'm not the biggest fan of his and that's Leo Barry - he has a habit that he gets himself and the team in trouble (and did that a few times in the match). I've said it now and I won't take that back.

On the other hand Fossie played brilliantly today and was named I think deservedly so BoG. Topped the disposal count as well.

We've got our % back up to 115 now so here's hoping a few of the derbies can go our way so we can sneak into the final 4.

I really liked Fosdike's game he has played really well the last few weeks starting to get the hardball I think someone must have had a little whisper isn his ear.

Well Willo's his mentor and Fosdike mentioned in an article a few weeks back that he has helped lift his game - he seems to be playing more like him in terms of the hardball and finding the opportunities.

Yup, the two favourite whipping boys, Fossie and Mathews, were probably the best 4 quarter performers, though Jude and Goodsey were OK in the first half as well.

Kirk had another sensational game. Early on I thought Yze might be about to get the better of him but the Captain just never loses concentration, and to rack up 20+ (quality) possessions himself was fantastic.

Couple of very uncharacteristically sloppy kicks in front of goal from the young Schneiderman but he had a pretty good game overall and laid a couple of great tackles. And that second goal reminded us yet again of his class. Maybe the two he missed were just too easy!

On the whole it was probably the younger generation that got us going today which is great to see. Willo, Maxfield and Cressa all contributed at times but they certainly weren't stand-outs - and that's a good thing, I reckon.

Kirk has to be a certainity for the AA team now.

And Schneiderman's definitely put the pressure back on Mitchell for the RS Award at the end of the season.

Definitely agree with you there lizz - it was good to see a whole team performance, especially in the second half - it wasn't just one player that was a standout for the team there were many - and I think those player rankings Channel 10 did at the end of the match to have 6 or was it 7 in the top 10 showed just how spread out the performance really was.

Now just have to take that second half form into the finals and not go back to the first half form

Was Des down there?? He hasn't been posting and that's a bad sign. If he was there then Ando and Charlie must have murdered him at half-time.

How good is Kirk's ability to win the centre clearances! I reckon when Cressa steps aside, he will become our major hard ball winner. He is following on from Cressa in a way, after all didnt Cressa start out as a tagger before becoming one of our prime ball winners in more recent seasons?

Kirk has certainly learnt some great things playing on the best midfielders all year!
