    He kicked 6.7 against St Kilda in rd 21, 2001, but I don't recall that they were all in the second half.

      There's no doubt injuries have taken their toll on Nicks. At his best he is a very good player but he's had a crook back for a while now, and by the sounds of that recent article on him he's still managing stress fractures. The game nowadays is played at such a pace for 120 minutes that if your fitness is not up to it you're going to struggle.

      I reckon we've already seen the best of Nicks, for these reasons, but he's still capable of playing the odd blinder. Let's hope he puts one in on Sunday.
