    In following our club for 28 years, I think that is probably our greatest win!! Ah, so good... {collapses on floor}

Goodes should def get the Brownlow!
Umpiring was ridiculous. There was about 3 free kicks they should have got in the 2nd quarter. Luckily it ammounted to a goal.

Well done Swannies, Bask in the glory!

You've made me so proud today!

Damn it, I think you're right Charlie!

It's all good though, sounds like the Swans have performed admirably this season despite the constant stream of critics.

I thought the umpiring was quite spot on today.

I never understood the complaining about the frees stats.
I mean if a team is playing undiciplined footy, they will be giving away more frees. We stuffed up lots, but that's footy.....

I agree CTS that we gave away some woeful and costly frees infront of goal, but you have to balance that with saying, does the same thing happen the other end of the ground to our forwards. I think the laws of probabbility suggest it does, but rarely do they seem to be paid. And that was definitely NOT a mark the ball slid through and hit the ground. BUT still in the scheme of things today with Port getting 4 goals from free kicks and dropped marks, it made this a sort of even sweeter victory...
I can't get the off my face....I'm still on adrenaline.....
"Davis...Davis has kicked 2...he snaps from 40...dont tell me, dont tell me, hes kicked a goal....unbelievable stuff from Nick Davis, can you believe this, he's kicked 3 final quarter goals and Swans are within 3 points..."

Here's what i made of the game:

                  1. COURAGE COURAGE COURAGE!!
                  2. Goodes played one of teh best halfs of footy for the year - the thing that most pleased me, aprt from his skill and agility, was how mcuh he seemed to want the footy! We've seen what this guy is capable of (Brisbane, Gabba, 3rd quarter and Collingwood, Telstra Dome, 2nd quarter) but he showed remarkable leadership out there, not just getting his hands on teh ball at every opportunity, but putting his body (and heart) on teh line!
                  3. Barry was sensational - put his body in front of teh firing squad at least 4 or 5 times. nearly took the Mark of the year and covered brillantly across teh half back line with Kennelly missing in teh second half
                  4. Kirk, MAttews and Fosdike tackled as hard as i have seen and despite our lack of stature WE looked liek we were intimidating port with our hardness at teh ball and relentless pressure
                  5. Schnieder showed great maturity - steped up n teh last to set up the Davis goal - showed poise and skill that shapes him up to be a quality midfielder in teh future. Oh how good would it have been if that goal went through!
                  6. Kirk confirmed why he should be AA - Kirk...eyes...footy...Pickett...eyes...man....CRAS H....Kirk...up and running - nough said!!
                  7. Roosy move to put Hall in teh ruck for those 4 minutes in teh alst was an inspired move - Goodes needed teh break, Hall had teh ability to use power and strength to shut down the agility of Brogan
                  8. Hall stood up when it mattered - bruising tackles, sensational kicking!
                  9. Nicksy's first quarter was awesome - wante dteh ball, got the ball!
                  10. Bolton and Nick Davis - two of teh best pick ups for the year!
                  11. LRT - made soem mistakes but his work on teh wing in teh last was quality!
                  12. Roosy's willingness to sacrifice Williams in teh first half down back on Stevens won us teh game
                  13. The umpiring was deplorable!
                  14. Graet to see Roos get fired up at 3 quarter time - i thought he was about to snap his crutches!!
                  15. Stevens showed great determination - tacking on an unfamiliray back role to cover for our losses down back!
                  16. Stu - probably his best captains' game of teh year - was that 85 or 90 meters?

I love teh way everone keeps writing us off and we prove em all wrong!!

Quick question: Is this more of a fairytale year than 96?

We were @@@@ especially in the 2nd quarter. Thats where you guys won it.......

Full credit to your team though. They were harder at the ball and looked like they wanted it more in that 1st half......

Well done & good luck in the Prelim guys.......

                          Thank you very much.

It must be hard to fathom as to where we (Sydney) have come from but don't worry, even the most faithful SS supporter has got a sense of disbelief, it has already been dubbed "easily biggest upset of 2003".

It was the gutsiest performance of AFL footy that I have ever seen, so you were unlucky to hit a team willing to put in a performance of that calibre!

since becoming an aussie rules fan only last year, i dont think i've ever been so proud of my side ever, and i've followed a rugby league team that i've seen win 2 grand finals.

How was the first half?? unbelievable!! i just felt so damn proud after all the media and all my troll league friends kept giving it to our side (not to mention the crap they post on BF about us being overrated etc).

19 men, star players out, playing the bullies from Port! Thank bloody hell that cressa was fit.

I felt really sick in that last quarter when i thought we were going to get beaten.. but when the siren went (and i was doing the stop watch ) the rush i got from that was incredible!!

who needs drugs? i'm high on the swans

Answering the last question if they win the Flag it sure will be

no 16 - apparently it was 85 metres, it just kept on bouncing and bouncing and bouncing then Goodes thought I might not even go for that ball after all and it went through

Thanks for stating that no 12. The reason is I was listening to the match on the radio in the second half - I only saw 5 mins while I was driving home from lunch out and I couldn't figure out what had happened with Willo - I thought he got injured in the middle of the match (not in the 2nd half when he got polaxed)

I heard on the radio that N. Stevens had been pretty quiet and thought maybe Kirk was playing on him but then heard he had been paired up with Pickett. So a huge thanks for answering my question on who was paired with him and why he hadn't been as effective as normal in that 1st half.

Can someone help me with a piece of trivia I've been trying to figure out without looking through all the Swans results this year.

Is it true that every time we've hit 100 points or more in a match we haven't lost?

I don't know why but I thought I had either read that somewhere or heard it mentioned somewhere and for the life of me can't remember.

what was the free kick count in the end? It seemed they got all the soft ones around there half, specially when they started coming back
