Ben Matthews - an apology from P46?

Benny was brilliant today. He is our best player at the stoppages
Kept his opponent in check, swept up, used the ball.

P46 if you can't recognise him for what he does for the side you know jack @@@@ about footy.

Sure we had a lot of champs today, but Ben caught me eye.

P46 you have come around (finally) on Crouch & Leo how about giving credit where it is due ???

IMHO Benny's most telling contribution today was in the last qtr, making tackle after tackle to tie the ball up and run the clock down.

    Great game Benny!!!

    I'm on the Chandwagon!!!

If you cannot compete for the premiership, it's better to be young and exciting than middle-aged and dowdy.

Roscoe, spoke to P46 straight after the game, he went to Adelaide, and already told him to pull his head in.

If he puts his head up again about Ben he is entitled to be blasted by all and sundry.

I think you will find he will be silent on this topic from now on, or indeed apologise.

Best game I have seen Mathews play by far. I have been a big critic of him, but finally he has stood up and had a ripper!

There was one particularly spectacular tackle by Mathews in the last 5 minutes when he virtually picked up the Port player and dumped him, right on the edge of defensive 50. Absolutely critical play at that time.

He can give some of us the @@@@s by taking so long to get rid of the ball from a set play, but don't you love it when he has the ball when we are trying to wind the clock down !

Hitting form when it counts as is Fosdike we need them and they aren't letting us down.

His disposal has improved out of sight I why was a real critic of his kicking prior to this year glad to see I was proven wrong

Matthews and Fosdike were both superb. Benny especially may have saved a couple of goals in the last quarter with great tackes. His marking was on song as well.

C'mon p46 you are awfully quiet on this subject - any opinions
on your whipping boy Mathews ?

                        Roscoe,

Just got back from Adelaide, so I hadn't had a chance to look at the board, and when I come accross this post, I was disgusted. If people weren't critical of players, this board would be very boring.

I refuse to apoligise to anyone, unless every single person on the board apoligises to every player they've been critical of.

Benny played well sunday, that's all I'm going to say. I love seeing bloods' players prove me wrong, hopefully he does, because i want him to succeed.

Now get off my back Roscoe.

Mathews was great on the stoppage plays and made some really good tackles as you've all mentioned. But his disposal was also pretty good, which is something we all criticise at times.
Using hypothesis testing via confidence intervals:
Nick Davis mark inside 50 = goal

                            I'll start!!

I apologise to Mathews for bagging him last year (although he did play poorly last year) as he has had a very good year.

I'd like to apologise to J Bolton for not believing he would turn his game around.

I was quite critical of Goodes early last year and the year before. I would now like to apologise to him as he has been a star this year.

I had also been critical of O'Loughlin over the same time frame. However, I also said at the start of the year that he would be our biggest improver this year and I think that was pretty right. Nevertheless I would still like to apologise to him for my earlier comments.

I'd like to apologise for a few comments about Schauble struggling earlier in the season (although I have been one of his biggest supporters for most of his time with us).

I don't think I've consistenly bagged any others (unlike some others, I have generally been a fan of Kirk and Fosdike).

                              OK, I'm next.

I'd like to apologise for bagging John Stevens, it obviously put him off his game.

Also apologies to Greg Stafford who I've been known to have a go at. What got into me ?

I sometimes questioned some of Schwattas across- the face of goal passes, but now I know he was working to a two year masterplan.

Nog - I think your game has improved buddy - reading the flow a bit better - loved the desperation in your frantic crwal to see the ball over the side-line.

Robbie Ahmat - I occasionally opined that I didn't think your heart was in doing the team thing - sorry about that. Anyway you still have THAT goal to treasure.

Stefan Carey - you could have been a champion - although I'm prepared to share the blame on this one with your barber.
