    Goodes!!!!

    Great comment

While Port has coped admirably without the pair during the home and away season, it was a different story on Sunday as without Primus, Goodes was virtually allowed to do as he pleased against a totally outclassed Dean Brogan while Francou was badly missed at the stoppages which were dominated by the likes of the inspirational Kirk.

Bset player in the league in my view for his all round game.

There was a few standout performances in finals this weekend -
Hird - Buckley - Goodes was right up there - As Bazza said - get on him for the brownlow!

One of the commentators made note that he has the style of play like Kouta and could be better than him.

If he can stay injury free and continue the way he plays at the moment, he deserves to hold that statement.

My favourite AG moment didn't involve him getting a single kick, handball, mark or goal... It was when Stuie Maxfield hooked a massive kick from the edge of the centre circle, Goodsey was 20 metres clear in the forward 50, escorted the ball in and steamed in, arms held up triumphantly like Ronaldo in the world cup, as if he'd booted the goal himself

177th Senior AFL Match - Round 4, 2009 - Sydney vs Carlton, SCG. This is obviously out of date. I suppose I'll update it once I could be bothered sitting down with the fixture and working it out....

A real "underpants worn outside the trousers" performance.
It'll take a big bit of Kryptonite to stop him.

Another brilliant display by Goodes...especially at the end where Sydney were down to 19 with injuries his work in the ruck was nothing short of sensational

                2 moments for me:
                1. Huge punch over Brogan on th wing to set up a goal in teh 2nd quarter
                2. His kick off the ground past 2 Port forwards to rush a behind

Next time a young Aboriginal player kicks 6 in a TAC cup grandfinal, let me know, so i can tell 15 AFL coaches to let him go to pick 40!

Good call Sanecrow - I thought he interviewed well after the game also. Incidentally, I thought it was Tim Lane who thought he might be more dynamic earlier in his career than Kouta.

I think that Goodes had a great game.

                          I think he's had a great season.

Perhaps he'll have a terrible season next year and there will be people advocting trading him like there were last year.

The club will pick the right person.

And for me, the right person at the moment is Stewie....

One of the best examples of the team effort yesterday. No individual glory, just all for the team. How good are they? Absolutely delirious with joy.

And remember that this was a guy who was off the ground at the end of the Melbourne game, looking very very sore. To play a game like he did yesterday in round 1 with a fit and painfree body would be an outstanding effort. To do it in the first round of the finals, after carrying the ruck almost on his own for the last month, not to mention running himself into the ground week after week after week, is an effort that leaves me speechless.

I loved his comment at the end of the brief interview at the end of the game when he said that as long as there's a ball there to be chased, he'll just keep running.
