Hopefully proud. He did build most of this team.
Rocket coached a team in a different era where we had a couple of super stars, but it thinned out dramatically after the top 15.
I think we needed the clear out of Kelly, Dunkley, Schwass, Lockett before we could be reborn. -

Football is about winning finals - something he had a poor record on."As a player he simply should not have been able to do the things he did. Leo was a 185cm, 88kg full-back and played on some of the biggest, fastest and best full-forwards of all time, and constantly beat them." Roos.
Leo Barry? you star! We'll miss ya, ''Leapin''.Comment

He wrote a very interesting article about the Swans team very recently. You guys should all read it.Comment

I particularly liked this line
Goodes is playing in his best position - as a follower who is allowed to be a free-running player. The previous coach tried to play him at centre half-forward, which is not his best position.Comment

I hope that he's looking on with a fair bit of pride. He deserves a lot of credit.
Does anyone know if he attended the TOTC dinner? I hope he's gotten some sort of formal acknowledgement for his contribution, now that the dust has settled. We hate Anthony Rocca
We hate Shannon Grant too
We hate scumbag Gaspar
But Leo WE LOVE YOU!Comment

He would definitely be embarrased with this. He never would have thought such a young team can do what it did today.Using hypothesis testing via confidence intervals:

Can't agree, Sid. My impression is that he still thinks well of the Swans. He didn't have to say what he did in The Age, and he's said some hard things about other teams. He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. Eade was trying to put his best side on the field each week and didnt play the younger guys much because he believed (rightly or wrongly) that the Swans were a contender each year. This was partly due to board-level decisions because they feared having a bad year would destroy their membership levels.
I agree that he built much of the side that we see today. He did a great job while he was around. We just needed a change. His message grew stale by the end.Visit my eBay store -

you must remember though during Eade's reign the powers that be wanted success, Roos was given carte blanche to have some time at the bottom if it built better foundations. It hasn't needed a fall down the ladder but Eade always felt under pressure and that kept us mired in mediocrity and having that tendency to give away draft picks to keep near finals contention.LIFE GOES ONComment
